help me!!!!! i lost my lug nuts

Post by satur9 »

okay i wanted to change out my 18"s back to the factory alloy 16"s but i cant find the lug nuts.lol. i thought they were acorn style(wih bulge?) but the holes in the rims are flat not cone seat. what type of lug nuts are factory? do they have washers? i cant remember. can i just use my tuner lugs on the factory rims even though the are the "thin" style. also the tires on the factories are pretty worn. is it better to drive with those or the 18"s till i get some good ones. it hasnt snowed yet but today was relatively warm so it was a good day to change them before it got cold.

My factory 17"'s have lugs with the washers. I believe the steelies use the ones that look like acorns.

my stock 16" rims had the lug nut with a washer on it. it was weird because everyother car i had, had the angled tip so it seated correctly.

Do a Search for lug or lugs. I found quite a few threads with info, hence why I didn't link them. Hopefully you can find what you need.

alloy rims be they 16 or 17" rims have the same lug with the ring. The steel rims have the different "acorn" threaded nuts the hubcaps can screw to.

I don't understand the need for a washer??? I too am in need of stock (type) lug nuts for the factory alloys. My car came with the steelies, but I bought a used set of alloys here in the for sale forum a couple weeks back. Any assistance on where to find a compatible set would be greatly appreciated. My stock steely lug nuts will be available for anyone who might need them once I get the new wheels on.
