Speaker Reccomendation

Post by hwm187 »

Hey Guys, replacing my factory moon and tune speakers. I replaced the head unit a while ago. Called crutchfield and they reccomended the Polk db6500 and db650. Anyone have a problem with these? Price seems good, but not "too good". Also, i don't really understand this 2ohm 4 ohm thing, crutchfield said i could keep the factory amp under the passenger seat. is this true? Help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Polks are great; those two should be a good replacement for the OEMs. The Infinity 6012 series is very good as well. You may not need component speakers for the front; just replace the doors and leave the tweeters in the top.As for the impedance (2 ohm vs 4 ohm), there are some differing opinions as to the impedance of the OEM speakers with the M&T package. Some say 2; some say 4. The Polks are 4 ohms and it won't hurt your system to install them.
