ok, i bought this universal alrm and starter. had this guy my father recomended do the job. he claims to have extensive experience. i would question this after the attempted instalation. he said he could not fit the alarm because of the side markers switch triggered a ground insted of a positive signal. the alarm on the other hand triggers a positive signal. he says most alrms offer a positive or negative signal. this one i had, only offered positive. so he tells me that i need to find a alrm that offers both.so, is this true. are the blinkers triggered by ground?
Not true in any way at all........he needs to change a positive into a negative pulse via a relay or vice-versa. You do not need to change alarms, just installers. ANY installer with any experience would know the work around off the top of their head.

this hadn't occur to me. i think this time i will do the job myself.i have never done an alrm before though. but from seeing the guy doing it. i think it isn't that difficult.the guy defenately wasn't equiped. he did it right outside his house.i would appreciate all the help posible. anybody out here in tri area NY wana give me a hand. i'll buy you lunch.
Hey, i've done alarms and remote starts right outside my house, so don't knock that! Some alarms do only offer positive output for the door triggers, they're quite rare though. But, as said, simple relays will solve that issue.
