The wheels are buckyballs, spheres of pure carbon containing 60 atoms apiece. The entire car measures just 3-4 nanometers across, making it slightly wider than a strand of DNA. A human hair, by comparison, is about 80,000 nanometers in diameter. Link to full article & illustrations --> http://media.rice.edu/media/Ne...08724
My 2003 Vibe Base Auto 2-tone Salsa "SalsaWagon" was built in May 2002. I acquired it in Feb 2004/Traded it in on a 2016 Honda HR-V in Feb 2018.
One of my friends is completed his BS in Nano Technology and is now working on his Masters. Really is amazing technology, but I also saw on the Discovery channel or one of those science channels, a special on ways the world may end. One idea was that nano machines will kill off everything, by eating away everything carbon based. I think that's what they were saying, this was a couple months ago and I'm no scientist. They were explaining how nano machines can replicate themselves at such huge rates. It was a very interesting show segment and scary to think if it were to happen.
