installing vinyl

Post by northvibe »

Ok so im installing my bluebat tail light red outs and the 3rd brake like vinyl, but the taillight red outs arent fitting 100%, so im wondering whats the best way to trim them?trim them with a knife after they are fitted or take them off trim and re-fit.

I learned the hard way to blow dry them as you smooth them out and they will shrink. I ruined one of my grafxwerks corner headlight overlays by cutting it...just use the blow dryer and it will shrink to fit. Make sure it's centered though otherwise it may shrink and make it uneven once it drys.Is that taillight overlay the shape of the entire tail light or is it just a rectangular shape to cover the amber part of the taillight? Maybe you could post a pic of the vinyl before you put it on

before you install them, you neeed to check your local laws, in almost every state, turn signals :have to be: orange......just the law.....

I believe you're right..you can't have red on the front of the car. Rear can be red or orange.

well after my friend got here...man its so much easier with 2 people. the driver side is...ok, needs a trim but the passanger side didnt even fit right, ill have to get in touch with bluebat to see if i can get a replacement. when i got them and put them together, the passanger side was angled funny. ill get some pics when its done. i wonder if it would be better to get a rectangle piece for the tails and trim them ur self after installing it as its a pain in the (removed) to make sure they fit right. The third brake light went pretty easy

You have to use a blowdryer when installing them, and trim afterwards if you need to.

But they do look cool all red, especially on a red car.
