I don't know, but you sound like you're on the right track. Do make it functional, which generally means tying said hood scoop directly into your engine's air intake system. Northvibe's idea sounds good to me. Find that hood and make it work. (Does SLP still make that? Last I heard they did not..)

SLP has discontinued their hood. RK Sport has a fiberglass ram air hood for $595 at http://www.rksport.com

i don't like it. The one on their website has a center high mounted scoop. i want one on the side. i'll make a paint mock up. i also don't want to pay ubbers amounts of money for a whole new hood. i'm cheap and resourcefull.

this is what i think the hood could look like.made some measurements, the scoop would need to be around 10 x 11.

Try this go to the junk yard and find yourself an old Turbo sprint. Remove the hood scoop (it's small enough it mught serve your purpose), have the body shop mold, paint and cut it into your hood. That would probably get you the look of the GT-R without all the fabrication.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...%3AITi bought this a days ago. i can rivet it to the hood, and double side glue it. i think it should be a pretty cut and dry mod. i already have an outline set up on the hood (inside).

Thats going to be big kinda like mine. Have you received it yet? I'm not sure riveting it to the hood is going to be good look, does it have screw holes underneath?

since it uses double sided tape. i'm sure it has a horizontal surface underneath. i can drill the holes to the hood going into the scoop. i do plan on using the doublew sided tape too. the rivets are for just in case. i don't want my scoop to fly off the car at 80 mph.

actually the scoop is small. it's about 6.5" at it's widest. and 11" at it's longest.if i'm not mistaking, the one you have is about 11" wide and 15" long.if you got yours from ebay.
