I am looking into new interior 6.5's I am torn, I have heard a ton of different speakers and it seems as though the Polk and Infinity are the 2 best, I need help, should I go with one of those two or is there a better one out there that someone has found. I had MBQuart 6x9's and Clarion 4x6 plates (4 inch speaker and removable tweeter) they sounded great but they were expensive as all hell. I need some help PLEASE!!

I put some inexpensive Cerwin Vegas in the front and some Crystal's in the rear which really improved the clairity of the sound.I've never heard a bad sounding Polk speaker though......
Since you guys are talking about door speakers, what kind of depth are we looking at ? Any room in there at all ??Are we only able to hook up thin mounts or what ?Thanks.
If I remember correctly, Carl told me that there was at least 2 5/16 in the front doors once the stock speakers are gutted, and the back has even more because the window won't get in the way.I think his post here is the best yet as far as speaker installs http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=785&page=1

Rear doors have over 3 inch depth even w/o using the stock speaker as a mount.
Stick with the MB Quarts!!! Polk and Infinity do not even come close. Look on ebay for the best prices. I got the Q series 218.61's which retail for $900 for only $280, best speakers I have ever owned. You can also get Infinities on ebay much cheaper if you like the sound of them better than anything else. They have better midbass than polks, but polks have better highs.
Thank you for all the input, I went with the Infinity Reference (I would check the number but there is close to a foot of snow on the ground right now) I also installed my JVC stereo (I would give the number but see above) It will be on my signature later. Next step, CAI.

I'm really disappointed that crutchfield does not list any speakers to replace the vibe's stock speakers with. I'm wondering if best buy or circut city would have a better idea as to the fit.
I went to Best Buy they didn't have any replacement speakers in their computer either. I guess we are on our own when it comes to seeing what will fit.
Not much room in those fromt doors at all. I was hoping I could hook some 6.5 old school Rockford Fosgates I still have laying around. The magnets on these monsters would make the doors cave in Oh well , Thanks.
