I remember when I first got my Vibe that I would go for Days and days, amidst the "SUV jungle" without seeing another Vibe. And that is when I lived in Nashville. It took me 3 trips to the dealer to even find one. Now, I live in a VERY small town in Tennessee, closest large town is 65 miles and I see at least 2 vibes a day. I know that quite a few large companies are using them for company cars because of the gas savings and cargo capacity. Don't get me wrong---I am grateful for the fact that the Vibe trend has caught on, it would be a tragedy if it was like that Boxy Honda thing (Element) that still hasn't really caught on yet. But before the Vibe, I drove a 4 door cavalier coupe, just like EVERYBODY else did. So, I savored the few months that I had a car that was different........Maybe I'll paint it bright purple with polka dots...so once again, it will be different........HA!!!!
Heather Proud vibe owner I'M DRIVING IT 'TIL THE WHEELS FALL OFF! IT HAS SURVIVED ABUSE FROM A DUCK......A COYOTE...AN ARMADILLO...A HUGE DEER (NONE OF THEM WERE PETS EITHER ) ...AND A DAUGHTER....WHAT A CAR! 106K AND STILL GOING STRONG!!!!
I live in a Vibe dead zone. I can go for a week without seeing one - it's been that way since the beginning. Some days I'll get lucky and see two or three, but those days are still pretty rare. If I travel an hour in most directions, I will see plenty. But not here. Of course, for every one Vibe on the road, there are probably 10 Matrices, go figure. It's nice to have something different. I have to admit though, that my returning to the land of bland and anonymous cars is long overdue. I guess I'm that antisocial. lol!

I see quite a few in my little town, but mostly driven by grandma. They look at mine like it's a demon, I wave (or honk my extra loud horn) and they just stare.

Now, none of the other vibers I see ever wave back.I used to do that, but rarely did I ever get a wave back, maybe once or twice. I quit doing it since people just ignore me or give that confused look on their face.Since I got my Vibe in early 2002, most people had never seen or heard of them for that first year. All the turning heads, people that wanted to look at it and had questions was fun. It's still nice driving a some what rare car. I usually see a couple Vibes each day, but rarely ever see a GT and have only twice ever seen other Vibes in person that are modified.
Justin 2003 Vibe GT - Mille Miglia Evo5 18x8 Wheels (now stock)- Magnaflow Cat-Back Exhaust (now stock)- Tein S-Tech Springs (now stock)- Injen CAI - Red Painted Calipers - Hella Supertone Horns - Polk Speakers - Bazooka RS8A-HP Sub - Kenwood Headunit - Still love my Vibe, but I've just turned it back into a basic daily driver.
There are now six Vibes on my street including mine. In the 16 months I have had my GT I have only seen two other Gt's. One is a girl (a little brunette) who has the "twin" of my GT, even from the same dealer. The other I saw on the turnpike, where are all the GT owners???

People used to do the same thing to me in parking lots...I remember once at the library some lady was asking me what kind of car it was and where she could get one. No random strangers now, but I do get friends who see my car and/or ride in it asking about it. That's about it though.
I miss those days. I never used to see Vibes and everyone knew my Vibe being the only modded one in the area. Now there are move vibes than sunfire and civics here but still none modded. Now I'm getting me another rare car I hope stays rare.
04 Fusion Orange Base Vibe auto Now no longer with us thanks to ignorant drivers...
For as big a town as Houston is, I see few Vibes and probably 3x as many Matrixes (yeah, I know it's "matrices", so sue me).Personnally, I'm glad to see more Vibes on the road...more potential GV members!
The questions from the uninformed were cute at first... Kinda like the lady that used to live around here that asked "Is that car one of those," *pauses as she tries to come up with the word* "um, half gas, half electr" *cp cuts her off* "Oh, you mean HYBRID?" I said... "Yes!" she replies. I say, "no it ain't no steenkin' hybrid!" Same stuff with a kid at Sonic that brought my food out to me. There were a couple others who asked the same thing. The queries from the public started to get on my nerves a bit... I didn't get asked about it a lot, I suppose, but just enough to annoy me. Sorry, I'm just NOT a people person! Once the Vibe had been out for a while, I thought I was in the clear. They are still rare here, as I stated earlier, but people stopped bugging me about the thing. Then one day, I was out at the laundromat working on my car while I was waiting for the clothes to get done. Yes, I often work on my car out there, I'm sure the management loves it. This older gentleman pulls up in a new bright yellow supercharged Cobalt SS. As I was putting in a fog light bulb, he has the nerve to come over and ask "Is that thang fast?" I looked over at his Cobalt and laughed.. Asking me if this base/auto is fast. "Um, NO!" "Oh, ok. Well, does it get good gas mileage?" "Um, maybe, sometimes." "Oh, ok. How much is it? That's a Toyota isn't it?" ARRGH! Leave me alone! lol

Oh, it's not just the Vibe. I would do that to people no matter what I drive, I think. I'm too much of a quiet, keep-to-himself kinda guy in real life. lol

It does seem like I see more and more of them in Southern Jersey. Mostly monotone base vibes. I only recall seeing one other GT. No modified vibes at all. There is one nice orange (cannot think of the proper name right now) monotone that parks at the train station with me. It is a base, but with the spoilers. I have no idea who drives it; I've never seen the driver.
