Ever removed a bumper protector?

Post by GMJAP »

Any tips on removing a bumper protector? I'm guessing it would be sort of like debadging, but on a significantly larger scale. My Dad has the OEM one that just sits on top of the bumper, and really wants the Matrix one with the lip that covers the edge of the bumper.I'm trying to decide if removing the existing one is something I want to try.....

If you have a monotone, there's a likely chance that it may peel your paint since those things are stuck on really good!If you have a two-tone, it may be easier to take off? I'm not really sure since I've never tried. That's just what I think.

I put the GM one on, and I'm considering the switch too....heat it up and gently peel.
