right or left handed

Post by scherry2 »

since BOZACK brought his injury to our attention, I was wondering just how many right or left handers drive vibes. this should be dominant (writing) hand.

I"m with you Jaycie--I'm a female leftie!! I have a quote here: "Everyone is born right-handed, but only the greatest overcome it." That was on a lefties calendar a few years ago and I loved it, so I taped it to my desk!

Tests conducted by Alan Searleman from St Lawrence University in New York found there were more left-handed people with IQs over 140 than right-handed people. Famous left-handed thinkers in history from Albert Einstein to Isaac Newton to Benjamin Franklin seem to underline the point.

I'm right handed but my left hand and arm are stronger. when I took karate, I found I was better with my left for some reason. and no not from what you might think... cause when working out in the gym, my right arm could lift more weights... I can also eat with my left hand as easy as my right hand. And I can use a mouse with my left hand if its on that side when using a computer.

Maybe it is because I had to concentrate more?i dunno, for some reason, a lot of people apparently do better batting the "wrong" way. my uncle is completely right handed at everything, but bats and shoots pool lefty!

I am a mirror image twin. My brother is right handed. I can be ambidextrous in many things and single handed in others. Somethings I actually do right handed and not left. Like controling the mouse and using scissors. I eat left handed, throw, bat and golf left. I shoot rifles and shotguns right handed. That is because I am right eye dominate.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.(Redirected from Ambidextrous)"Ambidexterity is the ability of being equally adept with each hand (or, to a limited degree, feet). The word "ambidextrous" is derived from the Latin roots ambi, meaning "both," and dext, meaning "right." Thus, "ambidextrous" is literally "right on both sides".As an inborn trait ambidexterity is rare, though it can be learned. Most ambidextrous people still gravitate towards performing certain types of tasks with a specific hand. The degree of versatility with each hand is generally the qualitative factor in determining a person's ambidexterity. Each side of the brain conrols the opposite side of our bodies. Some people have been known to hesitate upon the decision the brain makes while attempting to use either right or left side, most likely the motor controlled side that would benefit most.In modern times, it is more common to find people considered ambidextrous who were originally left handed, and learned to be ambidextrous either deliberately or during childhood in institutions such as schools where right-handed habits are often emphasized. Ambidexterity is often encouraged in activities requiring a great deal of skill in both hands, such as swimming and combat."you draw your own conclusions on whether your ambidextrous or not, I always thought that if you could do a certain feat with both hands both to the same degree. I.E. writing being able to write with both hands with the same control. and as i side note, I can print backwards and also upsidedown.
