There are no wires available for our cars, the coils are attached directly to the end of the spark plugs.

yeah, deisel vibes would be the next shot in the (removed) from pontiac or gm. thankfully they havent grasped the whole concept of a deisel car, leave it to trucks man. cars dont need that much torque and towing capacity.

A friend of mine has a VW Jetta turbo diesel 5-speed manual.....has plenty of power, and an honest 48 to 50mpg. I'm really amazed GM hasn't developed more diesel's for passanger cars. Especially their SUV's like the Trailblazer and Tahoe's. They'll be left behind again.

Me too... my last car was the first car I owned that had coil packs... so, with that time line - my next car will have the coil inside the cylinder.

I agree this spark plug coil set is very confussing. I had also asked this same question a while back and got hit with the same answers. I love my Vibe but it is nothing like my 97 Camaro, or the 72 Chevelle I had as my first car, plus with the rumors of the Camaro coming back I might have to sell my Vibe in a couple or trade it in, unless I can swing keeping it and garaging the Camaro as long as they do bring it back!!

In the 80's GM did have diesels in passengers cars. The used a 350 v-8 Oldsmobile block. Then install it in Some grand prix's, Oldd wagons'n, the caddy Eldorado. Then I have seen a few pontiac 6000's andfront wheel drive cutlass with a 4 cylinder diesel in them.
