I'm not sure what the likelyhood of it happening is, but 5 lights have gone out on my headunit.Went to a dealer today and asked about replacement lights, but he says it's not in the system.Has anyone tackled this yet? I'm sure I can pull it out, but if I'm going to go through the effort, I'd rather have the parts on hand to replace them.

Yikes! It may be easier to just find a replacement radio and do the ol' switcharoo! I don't know if there are really any user serviceable parts inside... Unless you're pretty handy, then go for it. Although, not a clue as to what type of bulb is in there, I doubt it is anything common.

What lights exactly?Don't take this as a question of your intelligence, but merely an attempt to eliminate the obvious. Do you realize when you swap between CD and RADIO, the lit buttons change to work with that particular mode? Example: when in CD mode, the numbers 1-6 don't light up, rather, the arrows and RDM and other CD-related parts of those buttons are lit. Switch to radio, those go out, and #1-6 light up.
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!
yup, the lights do wehat raging says they do. the dealer wouldn't sell lights for the radio. they sell the radios. there's certain things the dealer won't sell unless in a complete package. plus stock radios on ebay gor for less than a hundred.
The button lights are little incandescent bulbs with orange-red sleeves over them. They run off 12v, but I couldn't tell you a part number or where to get similar ones. The display backlight is a grid of surface-mount LEDs behind the display.
