Post by mcgusto82 »

i've never cut into metal on a car. since i've found a probable hood scoop. i need to know what i can expect to need to make the cut into the hood.

A plasma cutter is one of the best ways, but it's expensive up front.A cutoff tool is much cheaper.I cut my doors bottoms and cut off both rear quarter panels off my blazer with my professional dremel. very cheap!

heck, you could probably use a pair of good scissors on our sheet metal

lol. i need to cut into the hood. problem would be getting the initial incision. scissors would likely warp the metal around it.

dremels are your cheapest, easiest method. They can get the job done, with little mess.Plasma cutter would be nice, but they will probably ruin the surrounding paint.
