Something GM---In my dreams--Yukon Denali--My reality --- I would probably still be driving the Happy Meal (Cavalier). I didn't buy a new car because it was time, my Happy Meal has plenty of life left in it--I bought a Vibe because I HAD to have it.....My husband says I am a little spoiled, why would he say that???? Probably because he drives the Happy Meal now Poor guy--we are looking for a new car to trade the Happy meal and our Dodge Dakota for--any suggestions?????He wants a Vibe GT. Almost too cheesy....his and hers Vibes...ya think????
Heather Proud vibe owner I'M DRIVING IT 'TIL THE WHEELS FALL OFF! IT HAS SURVIVED ABUSE FROM A DUCK......A COYOTE...AN ARMADILLO...A HUGE DEER (NONE OF THEM WERE PETS EITHER ) ...AND A DAUGHTER....WHAT A CAR! 106K AND STILL GOING STRONG!!!!
In no particular order:-Toyota RAV4-Pontiac Grand Prix-Pontiac Grand Am-Honda Civic-Mazda P5I'm sure I would have weeded out some of those above if I got into the same research I did with my Vibe. I picked those (in addition to the Vibe) pertaining to reliability, personal experiences, and price.
I would have traded my '86.5 Nissan Pickup for another pickup, Probably waited until Nissan's full sized Pickup comes out and gotten that.As it is, I kept the pickup, since although the Vibe can handle 95% of everything I want to carry, it takes an open bed pickup for that last 5%.KSNeptune
Hmm yeah now that i think about I did have an eye for the following:Rav4Hyundia Santa FeChrysler Sebringbut after all of this I would something unique so I would probably would of take a serious look at the new mini-cooper
Salsa (2-tone) Base Automatic Vibe with Moontune package
I was also considering the following:Hyundia Tiberon GTMazda Prodege 5Mazda 6Pontiac Grand AmI almost got the Tiberon, Prodege 5 was WAY underpowered, Mazda 6 came out too late and the Grand Am....I'd have to wait until they come out with a new body style, the current ones are too big. So, the Vibe won out on everything. Power, looks and price.

I seriously looked at these:Mazde ProtegeSuzuki AeroSubaru ForrestorKIA SorrentoFord FOCUS wagonIf the Vibe was not available, I would have gotten the KIA Sorrento. I hated all the others for either product or price. It came down to the Vibe or Sorrento and I just liked the vibe from my gut. I also didn't really want to jump up to a 6 cylinder.JDF
Another RSX or a Tibouron or a KIA Sorrento or a Mitsubishi Outlander.
Abyss Monotone GT, 6 speed, Moon & Tunes, Power Group, and 16" Alloys. Soon you can see my Vibe GT at Shadowrealm's car pics but for now it is under construction!
Strangely, I'm usually "Buy American", but #1 and #3 are just irrestible. If I had the money, a WS-6 would definitely top the list.new:1. WRX2. SRT-43. Mazda 6used:1. GMC SYCLONE!!!!!2. '91, I believe, Turbo Trans Am3. Super-chargered Golf GT-iOf course there's other U.S. cars, but there just isn't the performance and uniqueness there.......YET!
I'd probably ride my bicycle everywhere!Would have made the 55 mile commute a ***** though.Actually I would have gotten a Cooper Mini S or a hyundai Elantra GT or a Beetle convertible.None of these cars would be the practical family mover that we intend the vibe to be however

Well I went in to the dealer looking for a 2002 Grand Am GT cause I needed a car fast. And then as I pulled up it stood in the showroom a car appeared that had only been seen through prototype pictures. Something that would catch the eye of anyone with a decent sense of taste but different enough that if you owned it you were unique it was the Ponitac Vibe.So yea that couple with what they wanted for the Grand Am GT is how I choose my Vibe. Would have gone with a Vibe GT but my baby was the only one on the lot and I couldnt take my eyes off of it.

I'm VERY impressed with the new Accord coupe. 240-hp V6 and high 14-sec quarter mile times. That's the same horsepower and a quicker ET than the Pontiac Grand Prix GTP and done WITHOUT a supercharger. If it wasn't so bland looking (and expensive) I'd get one.
I have no idea what I'd be driving. I originally got my Cavalier lease in 1999 and probably since 2000 and on I've been trying to figure out what I was going to lease next. I didn't like most of GM's current cars, but wanted a GM. I really liked the Acura 1.7 EL and possibly would have gotten it. Yes, I know its mostly a luxury Honda Civic, but I liked the look of it better for some reason.

Mini Cooper because it's really small, is great in a city environment, is very cool looking, and can carry at least some stuff with the hatch.Celica GT, because it's really, really cool looking, can carry some stuff with the hatch, and is (in style, size, and layout), a 2003 equivalent of my first automotive love, a 1975 Chevy Monza 2+2.Saturn Vue, because it's good looking for an SUV, not stupidly large, can carry lots of stuff, and would have (I'd hope), the build quality and reliability of my departed Saturn SW2.Saturn Ion quad coupe, (see above regarding SW2)1993 Saturn SW2, because it still had at least another 4 years in it and was still a great car after 105000 miles. But GM Card earnings were about to expire big time and...
probably in this order....1) Honda Element2) Rav43)Honda CRV4)Mazda P5If the Vibe didn't have the Toyota "guts" I probably wouldn't have considered the Vibe. I couldn't imagine spending my money on a car from a company that is responsible for the Sunbird and Grand Am. I still get bummed when I see the ads with the Vibe lumped in with the Sunbird and Grand Am.
In order>Mazda 6 wagon (soon to be released)Jetta Wagon 1.8tMazda P5 (probably too small)I might consider the Element if it were monotone or the cladding were as tasteful as the Vibe.
Frosty 5 speed Vibe Power & Safety Packages. Naturally Aspirated my gallery
I seriously wanted a Toyota Rav 4.Toyota, however, refused to work with me on the price andI settled for the Vibe (it looks like the Rav4 only a little shorter). And I'm so hapy with my Vibe so it worked out for the best!
My car was stolen (Type-R) - Needed one ASAP - GM Purchase plan & 0% financing looked good - The Infinity G35 coupe wasn't out yet. So, I got the Vibe with the intention of replacing my daughter's 93 Geo Storm and buying the G35 later.
We had bought a 2002 Altima in December of '01. Really liked that car, but it had the 4 cylinder engine. Since my wife drives that one, I was gonna get myself a 6 cylinder version. But my old truck was beginning to need retiring, so I looked for something with some storage versatility, economy, and the potential of some driving thrill. I also needed something visually inspiring. The Vibe caught my attention, but the cladding didn't help it's look. Then my dealer got in a solid Neptune Blue Base Vibe and I was hooked. Nothing anyone else was offering even caught my attention.KSNeptune
i wanted an tacoma s-runner(tricked out lowrider supercharger toyota truck, in case your wondering)but the stopped making them.neon srt-4 (215 turbocharged horses in case your wondering) mabey trade in the vibe, nahhhhhhhh!!!!

Well, if I my sunfire hadn't been totalled, I'd still be driving that. Seeing how it was, I probably would have been in a sunfire had the vibe not been around. While I would have preferred to look outside hte brand as well, parental pressure because of close ties to the dealer (in other words, my parents said buy a pontiac from our friend), i got a vibe.
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!
