I'm looking at a 2005, but the sport package wings, extensions, and skirts are too much for me. How are they attached? How difficult would they be to remove? Would there be holes to fill/repair?
the front, side, and rear fascias are held on with 3M sticky tape. The spoilers are bolted on, so if you remove them, you will have to fill the holes. If you don't like them, I would suggest leaving the spoilers on the car and just removing the remainder factory package. I'm sure there are a few members here that would love them. If i still had my vibe, I know I would have.
Why would you even consider paying for a feature as expensive as the Sport package only to remove it? Wouldn't it be prudent to shop around a little more and find a vehicle more to your liking?Personnally, I wasn't in the market for a Vibe with the Sport Package either, but I'm really glad I got it. I think it looks great.
would be a real shame to lose the sport package. i think it looks nice, especially since it's a GT. however, if you still don't care for the boy ricer look, perhaps you should take off the parts you don't care fo and then store them. if you resell the car, you can add them back on.
I have to agree with ZEG here...it's stupid and wasteful to buy a car with a package you don't want for several thousand more, then to shop around and/or order the car you DO want.
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!
I was looking around on Pontiac's site for Onstar with the whole build your own car deal there, they don't seem to have it listed. So, is this a dealer installed option? If so, I can see why you're having difficulty getting your hands on a non-sport package equipped, Onstarred Vibe. If all of that crap is dealer installed, of course they are going to end up adding everything they can to make a buck. This is probably how we keep ending up with Vibes that are dangerously close to the $30,000 mark. You may have to order a GT spec'ed out appropriately if you can't find one equipped as desired at the dealer. But you can always continue with what you were thinking... The body kit crap should come off easily, the hatch is going to be a problem from where they drilled into it to put the spoilers on that you didn't want... Maybe you could get lucky and find a member reasonably close by who wants both spoilers but doesn't have any and has the same color and like-new paint... Perhaps you could swap tailgates. A shot in the dark, but hey, that's a heckuva of a lot less work than trying to fill in all those holes and repaint the thing. But you're still paying for something you didn't want though, and something you're not going to leave installed. Unless you can really bargain with 'em. Good luck with whatever you decide. Don't let the dealers give you the shaft though!

EDIT: I see what you're saying now, it's not listed under Build. Odd. However, the Build function has been screwy with the 06 models, it always seems to be missing SOME option...

Ha ha, phunny! I knew this was an option since last year. I didn't see the big OnStar logo thingy, that wasn't what I was looking for. I was looking for a little box that said check me to add OnStar to the options list, but all I found were crap like sun & sound, monotone, and all that other jazz. THAT is where I didn't see it. heheheI was afraid to click the click here thing, i thought it may take me to pr0n or something.

I temporarily removed my sports package without spoilers. You will end up with 4 holes at the front of your car for the front spoilers. So it is not just the rear spoilers that make holes.
If you do end up getting the GT and don't want the sport package, i'd be happy to take it off your hands. Lemme know what you do. Though i do agree with ZEG and Raging....do some more shopping...it's kinda pointless to pay more for somethin ya don't want.
