Vibe Heater is AWSOME!

Post by vibe-anator »

The heater is incrediable in my vibe! I still have to get a actual reading on the temp, but if I shut the vent doors on the dash, have the fan on low the vents get so hot, if you place your fingers on it for ..say.. 60 seconds, its almost to hot to touch!Heck, if you just open one vent, its like running a 1500 watt hair dryer This will be real nice come our winters here in michigan.Best heater I have ever seen in a car!

I would have to agree! the heater heats pretty quick on mine too, i have seen some people insultate the heater tube like the AC one. wonder how must faster/hotter it would be... as im like you, up in the north, in duluth its FREAKING Freezing in the winter.

i think the climate system is efficiant. good heating. i specially like the rear compartment dutcs. not many cars have them specially in the 20k margin.i really wish they had offered a auto system though.

But I like that the heating system works like it does. My daughter likes the rear ducts under the seat too.I'll be driving home at night from work - it's nice to know I won't be shivvering ten miles down the highway My last two vehicles were duratec v-6 powered, took forever to heat up.

You guys have Vibes equipped with heat? What? Yes, that's another thing that hasn't worked right on my car for a while now. *sigh*The first year, it worked fine. Last year, it was "warm" but never anywhere near "hot." Which I guess is a good thing really, as I don't like being hot anyway. I never bothered to look into the problem last winter, and I didn't think about it until over the last month or so. Blah. Can't win for losing, the A/C doesn't cool good in the summer, can't heat the car up in the winter. My whole HVAC system is dysfunctional out the wazoo.

I think I found the issue with your car CP... they put your engine in upside down or backwards...

I think at least 1 in 10 members on this web site has made that same post on at least one occasion. LOL1) The car didn't start messing up until it was past the lemon law mileage for the state of Indiana.2) Lemon laws are for repeated services for one problem, not multiple separate problems. So yep, Sir Knocksalot is a lemon, but unfortunately nothing can be done about it at this point. Unless of course GM decides to do something about it... (hint, hint, oh powers that be who may surf our lovely board )

Too late for the lemon law, far too late. But not too late for a thermostat though, if I can get off my lazy (removed) and put one in, or at least pay someone else money to put one in. That may be a good start for the lack of heat.

That would be really nifty if someone from GM IM'ed me and said "Mr. Panic, about 3 years ago, a test vehicle from NUMMI unknowingly left the facility and made its way to a dealer in Indiana, and by referencing the VIN, we have determined that you are the owner. As part of the outstanding quality control program at NUMMI, part of the process involves assembling one car entirely of defective components so we will know what to look for when each component fails. We are afraid that we may have sold you one of those vehicles. We ask that you accept our apologies and accept a new orange Aveo hatchback in exchange." Seriously, it sure would be nice if GM was listening and could help. But that would never happen, unless my GMPP claims got to the point where it was costing the company far too much money that it was going to further downgrade their credit status beyond where it already is.

The ducts are under the front seats and are tied in with the floor ducts up front. So when there is air coming out from under the dash, it also comes out from the rear seat ducts.

I can't say enough about the heater. It is awesome. It's going to be put to the test in a couple of months when the temps hit -20 to -30 at night here.

In the winter, you can point the dash vents on either side of the steering wheel right at the wheel to cook your cold hands. I wish the driver's floor vent was right at the floor, instead it blows down on your shin.

i am a bit lost on this - rear seat heat ducts ? Where would i feel the air coming out ? I tried looking for air vents like they have on the dash in the front but found none in the rear .Like you said ; the ducts are under the front seat .Is it possible for you to elaborate in that ? Thanks !!

Sad but true That got me thinking.... if we only paid for the options we are actually going to use instead of paying for stuff we're not using (like the heater in my case), that would have saved me a lot of $$$ off the cost of my car since they wouldn't need to be installed!
