I was just wondering if anybody has a photo of the 2005 Vibe bra from Carbras.com? I spoke with them this afternoon indicating that I wanted a "short hood" cover, not a full-on cover and the guy I spoke with emailed me a jpeg of the 2003/4 bra. Just wanted to know if anyone who has the '05 bra could post a pic for comparison purposes.Thanks.
That 05 bra is fugly. I hate bras that go up the middle of the hood. Reminds of some old minivans. It actually looks better than I though it would. However, I wanted to stick with the '03/'04 hood style and Ken at Carbras said he'd send me a '05 nose section w/a '03/'04 hood piece. Considering it's almost impossible to find any bra for an '05, I'll take what I can find.Cougar Vibe
Well, I finally got my Perfect Fit car bra from Carbras.com. Like Pick, I too wanted the 2005 nose cover with a 2003/4 hood piece; it took about three weeks to get it, but it's really well made and fits extremely well. Installation took me about an hour (plus an hour in the sun to make the bra stretchy), and though the metal clips took a little while to get used to, they weren't that difficult to bend and place. Overall, I'm pretty happy with it.Here are some photos...
Nice pics, but they are way too big. They need to be resized. Can you get a shot from a little farther away so we can get a better look at it with the whole car in the picture? Thanks.

Great pictures. Can you give us some idea as to how long it would take to "remove when being washed" and then "how long to reinstall"?? Once you have "initially installed it (and I assume have to bend the clamps) (and I have read elsewhere that there are a lot of them??? It really is a nice professional "tight" fit.

Once you have "initially installed it (and I assume have to bend the clamps) (and I have read elsewhere that there are a lot of them??? It really is a nice professional "tight" fit.I can't say off-hand how many of the clips there are exactly, but to guess I'd say 25-30, with five additional independent snaps. The hardest part was the four clips (two on each fender) that have a snap built in; these act to really keep the front lower bra piece snug. The photo I took of the wheelwells shows the snaps (three per side with two being snaps on clips and one being an actual snap you screw into an existant hole). However, the first time you put the bra on it is really tight (even when warm from sitting in the sun) and you'll find yourself muttering a few explicitives.Initial installation took me an hour; subsequent removal took me all of five minutes. Re-application took about fifteen minutes and the only difficult part was getting those before-mentioned snaps closed again. Considering how well fitting this car bra is, the extra time doesn't bother me a bit.
That bra looks really good! Nice job installing.- On a side note, I thought all '05's were cable'less throttle (DBW) now... you got a rare one that can be S/C'ed with TRD's kit, if I remember correctly.
THANK YOU! I was just about to start a new thread about this, figuring naively that my recently pruchased Vibe was built early in the '05 production run and that it had been either sitting on the lot for twelve months or was bouncing from lot to lot for the same time period. The thought of that was making me cringe all night...Thanks again for the AWD info!
I guess that as long as the weather is "warm" and you can "stretch" the vinyl to the snaps, it should be AOK. Colder weather might be a bit of a hassle; however, I still think you did a great job and the pictures were also GREAT.

I have the full hood version from Carbras for my 05. Initial installation takes awhile, but once you get the hang of it, it'll take you about 5-10 min. to remvoe and about 15 min if that to put back on. I have a tough time with clips on the lower grill. Everything else unhooks and hooks rather easily and quickly. Agree the the full hood version takes getting used to looking at but given the fact these cars are so poorly painted, I'd rather have the extra protection. If I had to do it over again, I'd ask for the short version for the hood.I never inquiried about it. But, they are definitely well made and the fit is pretty nice and tight.
