1 Year Vibe-aversary

Post by GMJAP »

Put on 18k miles in the first year. Guess I got about one more left on the warranty.Hard to believe it's been a year already. Still loving it!Washed, polished, and waxed it this weekend:

Also put on a Matrix bumper protector which I like cause it has the lip that covers the edge of the bumper. (Props to jeffgtx who put me on to it)

congratulations. my annyversary is coming up too. nov 18th.wow, it's really wird. you brought up the fact that 18k miles and have approximately 1 year left on the warranty. i have about 15k. GM's warranty really sucks much!!!! how has GM bee able to keep selling cars with the lowest passenger warranty available. (exluding high end race bred cars (ferrari and such))now, looking back at the rational things people should look at before buying... ahh hell, i like the vibe.

Looks like new. Nice job on the wash and wax. I need to get one of those bumper protectors. Every time I load and unload large stuff I fear scratching the bumper.

Cheers, everybody. Glad to hear some elbow grease keeps it looking good!Having gone over the car up close while washing/waxing it was a little depressing to see all the chips (esp on the front bumper) and dings in the mid-door trim strips. (Thanks to all the jerks who fling open their door - Bam!) At least they were in the strips - I guess that's what they're there for.

Is the Matrix bumper protector you put on your Vibe the Toyoto OEM one?I found this one at http://www.anythingtoyota.com/...earch for $32.50...seems much more reasonable than what GM wants for it.

The older Matrix one just sat on top of the bumper, and didn't cover the edge. I think that version is the one being sold in the link you posted.I got mine from Deland Toyota off Ebay for less than $30. This one has a lip that covers the edge of the bumper - which is the most likely part to get dinged anyway. Much better than the standard Toyota or GM one IMO. Here's a like to a current Ebay auction:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...wItem

Congrats on the one year anniversary! We have the same year/color Vibe. Glad you're still enjoying it. I just passed the one month mark myself and am still in love with the car.

I would guess it could be removed in way similar to "debadging", but would still be more difficult. Anyone else know?(The one I have is held on by 2 strips of adhesive tape)
