Clogged wiper nozzle?

Post by johnnydanger »

Hi folks. I havnt posted here in a long time, but im having a problem. My front windshield wiperfluid is only coming out from the center of both nozzles. This is not very effective in cleaning the windshield. Can anyone give me any recommendations on how to correct this. When I look at the nozzles, the left and right nozzle looks white and I dont know if its suppose to or if theres actually something white clogged in there. Can anyone help me with this? The wiper fluid only comes out the center nozzle on both dispensors. Thanks in advance.

try poking it with toothpics or paperclips.

You could use canned air to try and blow the matter back into the line - probably best to disconnect the hose and drain it before doing this.Sometimes poking stuff into the nozzle will malform it and cause it to loose it's pattern. Replacement nozzles aren't expensive or hard to install - just not needed too often. If it's under warrentee - take it to the dealer to mess with. Otherwise Drunkin's idea wasn't too shabby.

That "white" stuff might be wax. Have you polished the Vibe? and yes, a toothpick of even a safety pin inserted into the clogged area should do the trick.

Mine was clogged a while back because of wax. I just did the old toothpick thing and after a few days it finally loosened up and started working again.

Thanks folks. I stuck a sewing needle in the nozzle and cleaned it out and corrected the problem. I have no idea what was in there cause I have not waxed my car. I should though. Anyways, its corrected now. Thanks again.
