My fiancee(Lydy) and I(Nick) picked up our 2003 Vibe today. After a week or two of looking we ran into the vibe. At first I didn't look back but it's her car, she liked it, so we test drove it.Turns out the thing is a great car, nothing but good reviews from everyone I could find.. I'm not a big fan of GMs but after reading about the Toyota engineering, it got my vote.. it's the best built GM I've seen so far, and even though the power is low it's a blast to drive. We traded in a 98 Buick Lesabre... that thing was a hunk of junk.I went around town today looking for a K&N filter but none in stock.. i'll look again tomorrow or order one.. read a few things on the board saying K&N isn't the best idea on this car.. first time i've read anything bad about K&N.. is this true? I'm just going to get the drop-in and swap out the paper stocker...post pictures in a few minutesoh yeahIt's a base 03, dark red, hub caps(for now), sunroof, with about 38,000 miles.. we payed about 11.5K for it.From what I can find online the sunroof is a package coming with a sound system.. but the sound system is kinda low end.. did the vibe come with a Monsoon system like the grandams?
Welcome!!!!! The M&T package is a little low end, replacement speakers can really give you that extra sound you are looking for. The electronics section has a ton of info that will help you out.

(removed)! gah! idiot! welcome to gvc. the moon & tunes package is basicly the crappy Toyota stereo w/ 2 tweeters and a 200 watt amp. same paper cone speakers, just louder. replacing the speakers will definitely help for sound quality! just remember the factory amp is 2 ohm and not 4 ohm like most a/m systems. vibe is a great car, and for what you got, sounds like $11.5K is a good deal. the dealer trying to sell my 03 vibe GT i traded back in April is asking $13.9K with 33K miles and a busted front bumper. of course i did install custom leather and heated seat (only drivers), but imo, i doubt they will get it. clutch is going out and the front end damage is about $1100. but, not my problem to fix anymore. lol. vibe is a great car! there have been a few lemons we know of, but i'd say 99% have been excellent!
Very nice, its a lot like the one I bought for my wife. I was sold on the quality and the practicality. She had a AWD Talon TSI with many upgrades before, fun to drive but was hard on gas and cramped inside. With gas approaching 3 bucks a gallon the fuel savings and insurance pretty much takes care of the payment. And with 25k on the odo it should be a dependable car for years to come.

Welcome!! I hope she enjoys driving as much as I have, I feel your pain on the gas, it was one of the reasons I turned in my SportTrac and got the Vibe. Had it only 2 weeks and already seeing the savings!!! yeah!
thanks everyone. grass.. haha long story just picked up the K&N filter tonight, going in tomorrow.. and a list of stuff to come sometime very soon.nick
