So, how many of our Sirius subscribers have received your nifty new channel guides in the ol' snail mail yet? Got mine in the mail toda.., er, yesterday I guess it was. They shook things up a heck of a lot more than I was anticipating... I'll be brief for those who aren't in the know yet: A few new channels were added - The Coffee House (acoustic,) Spa 73 (new age,) BBC Radio 1 (UK new music,) Super Shuffle (dumped Sirius Disorder, from what it appears,) Sirius Advice (call in shows, that should be interesting,) Sirius Weather & Emergency (combines the three TWC channels from before plus what was on 184,) Radio Margartiaville, two Howard Stern channels, Martha Stewart, and a couple Christian channels - talk and a rock one...They whacked stuff (and moved elsewhere) such as: Folk Town (that's Coffee House now,) stuff from Wax is now on Hip Hop Nation and Shade 45, Slow Jamz is gone (tune to Heart & Soul,) Horizons is now The Globe, Cracked Up Comedy is now knwon as Laugh break. Remix, ugh - they moved stuff to Area 33 (was 63,) Boombox, The Beat, and Shade 45. Good thing I didn't listen to that one, that would make it hard to find the tunes I used to get in one place! Swing Street has been merged with Standard Time, Talk Central is now Stars, stuff that was heard on Wisdom is now on a channel called Lime. Air America is gone, programming moved to Sirius Left.Fortunately, they didn't do much with the stuff I listen to. I'm interested to hear the new age stuff on spa 73, I was using Chill there for a while to try to sleep to, but they've made their playlists far too upbeat as of recently so that just didn't work. We're really going to have to go to town on reprogramming our presets on these receivers though, man! Not much is going to be on the same channel as it once was except for the stuff below channel 10. Not to mention, all the sports and various other news/political things I have locked out of my receiver will now come back, and I have to lock all those channels back out once more. Oh well, it will be for the better though, 'cause Martha Stewart and Richard Simmons are coming! And yes, those two Stern channels! But quite frankly, there's a better chance of me turning in to Martha Stewart than me listening to the king of whatever media. hehIt's going to be interesting. What are your thoughts? Anything you're looking forward to? Or anything you're upset about losing?

Otherwise, nothing really changed that I listened to as well but I'll check out the new offerings the 29th.

With XM receivers, if they make a programming change that moves a channel that is preset, the receiver automatically gets updated to reflect the new channel in that preset. For example, I have top 20 on 20 programmed to memory location A1 as channel 20. If they moved it to channel 120, hypothetically, I wouldn't have to do anything. I could still hit the memory location for A1 and it would update to receive 20 on 20 on channel 120, not 20.Perhaps Sirius receivers are similar?
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!

I didn't get anything yet, I don't think I got the mail yesterday. I am looking forward to the Howard Stern channels. Douche 100 (tentatively) should be good stuff. Mrs. Poopypants will be buying her Sirius Starmate this week, I talked her into it, she listens to Howard every morning too, so it will work out nicely.

Personally, since major channel updates only happen once a year, I can handle taking a little time out and updating them manually. I'm not saying an automatic update wouldn't be nice.. BTW, I got all 5 of my channel update pamphlets on Thursday..
Ugh, was my receiver a disaster this morning. I waited and waited for the thing to update, it never did. Finally, I just woke up for a sec and found that the channels had changed. I had some rather interesting presets, stuff I never would have set in the first place. Plus, I kept looking for stuff but couldn't find it, and that was due to the fact that I had a good 20 or so channels blocked. Whatever now so happens to have the same channel number as something that I previously didn't like, well, it didn't show up. - and stuff I really didn't want to see on the list was now there. So, now presets set, channels blocked, and I've skimmed over the new stuff a bit. Now I just have to spend more time checking this stuff out...

Of course, it may be different each time they update. I haven't been in my car yet to see what the presets on my Kenwood receiver will do.. so we'll see. My home unit went through ok, but no presets on it (don't use it as often as I'd like). So far, I noticed (for example, Chill // 35) that the newly numbered channels don't have many, if any, sweepers programmed yet between tracks.
My Kenwood and my Portable Audivox unit updated the programing this morning. I had to go through and change most of my presets, they reaaly changed things alot, but it seems that alot of the stations that they added i will listen to, so i think it was worth it. Side note when the kenwood recievers update it doesn't say anything you just have to leave it on one station for a while till it is done

I think it was somewhere around that time. I may have been awake at 3:00 or so, but it didn't have anything new at the time. I was suspecting somewhere between 3 and 4 since at 3 AM EDT it was midnight PDT, so I figured they wanted to wait until it was officially the 29th in all markets before making any changes.. The only new channel I've listened to thus far would be spa 73, cool stuff. I haven't been able to sleep listening to new age kind of stuff since the local public radio station pulled their broadcast of Echoes from their nightly lineup several years back. This is good. Poopy, may I ask such stupid question, but what is a farter in terms of broadcasting on Sirius? I know I'm a pretty big one in real life, but what is one of these farters in which you are referring to? lol

Figured I would ask this before I went and looked elsewhere. Because I'm lazy like that and I don't want to go somewhere else and use the search feature. Gee, maybe I do need to look on sirius backstage, but I'll have to do that later. lolAnyone with Sirius receivers w/ the song seek feature find that faeature completely not working anymore? I have a tune in all 20 slots, but I'll be darned if any of 'em will alert me when they come on anymore, if they come on anymore. Of course, they were all set before the big channel switcharoo, but previously most of the time it didn't matter what channel it was on. There were some exceptions to that though. I know I listen to some weird stuff, but it used to beep with such good frequency before despite that... Last night I stored something in song seek that I knew would be played with some frequency, but nothing yet. I hate to clear 'em off or erase some and put new stuff in there, it literally took me months and plenty of luck to get the tunes stored in there. ANd yes the song seek feature is turned on as are the tones to alert you. Particularly interested to hear from Sportster owners. I don't know if this has anything to do with the channels changing around, or if the timing is a good coincidence, or if it's been broken for a while but I never noticed it before.

I thought I read something about this over on SB.. I did a search over there and didn't find anything too definitive, but check out this post:http://www.siriusbackstage.com...+seekYou may want to try to just set up one new s-seek and see if it works.. maybe they got all whacked-out from the update. I don't have any s-seek entries set so I can't tell you personally. What about Kari? I know she has a Sportster too...
I have been using mine in another room most of the time though, and listening to it via the FM transmitter and my alarm clock, so I haven't heard any song seeks. But yeah, I didn't hear *any* in my almost 2 hours of driving yesterday, which is kind of unusual...hmmm...sure hope I don't have to reset all of those.
Have you listened to ch12 SuperShuffle. GREAT STATION!!They play a little bit of everything, but unlike Sirius Disorder, you've actually heard the music before.

I listened quite a bit yesterday, in the same room even, and heard no song seek beeps at all...hopefully they haven't decided we don't deserve song seek just because we don't have a new receiver.

I understand the new Starmate Replay has an artist seek feature, something I've been wanting, so I need to go buy that one. (blah, I'll just wait until a Sporster-ish unit comes out with that feature before spending more money that I don't have. )Actually, mine beeped at me again today with one of the songs I put in there the other day. Anything that was stored in song seek prior to the middle of September will have to be stored again for it to work. A change was made on how the songs are identified, so the old song seek data does not match what is currently being broadcast.http://www.siriusbackstage.com...27482The nerve of those dillholes, it took me months to get those damn things set! I guess I'll have to erase all of my song seek memories, tune to the channels that were playing my favorite songs and call to place a request, then sit and wait... This is gonna take a while! But at least there's an explanation, and it does not involve purchasing new equipment.
