JVC Headunit Problems with M&T

Post by McVibe »

I just got a really nice HU from JVC and installed it but when I did, the only music I could hear was out of the Subs in the back. This is obviously some problem because of the Moons and Tunes set-up but I don't really know for sure. Can someone tell me what I need to do to make this work? You know, cut a few wires here and there, splice a little...

You need to trigger the outboard amp to come on.Connect pin B3 on the car side (the only pin that has TWO wires coming out of the back of it - tap either wire) to the amp turn-on signal from the headunit.

So yea, sound is coming thru the speakers now but I have found another problem...There is a noticable hiss coming out of the tweeters that wasn't there before. I tryed messing with the equalizer but the hiss was still there. And it's not engine noise either, as I played the CD player when the key was in the ign. at acc. Any idea or is it time for me to get new tweeters or crossovers, or what ?

That's the quality of your delphi sound. Also, make sure you're using a line level converter. Otherwise, your sound is double-amplified and sounds like a$$.

yeah, the line level converter is great. Thanks raginfish for letting me know that in my thread as well. I just connected the amp signal wire from the radio to the amp signal wire from the wire harness and it worked great. love my kenwood acdrive headunit
