"Bidon d'essence" in the truck

Because of the rumour that the gas price will increase because of the hurricane Rita,i wonder if is illegal to put gas in a "bidon d'essence" and keep in the truck.

Yes,but i try to take the worst situation.Now,the price are 1.09,they say that the price will be 1.75 because of the hurricane Rita will pass on Texas where there is gas refinery structure.
