NAV system - "I Agree" button

I just bought a Silver Vibe with Nav system a couple days ago. I highly recommend the car to others who are only thinking about buying one.My question: Whenever the NAV system starts up I have to click the "I Agree" button. Is there some way to Agree once and not be bugged forever?By the way, the sound system that comes with nav sounds very good.Thanks,Lowell Campbell

I am hoping that someone finds out if there is a uplink port for the comptuer on the nav system. I would love to do some programming on it to change all the annoying stuff

I just bought my Vibe on Saturday, so I don't feel like opening up the dash yet. But eventually, I'll want to find out who the manufacturer of the LCD nav system is so that I can find out about programming it. I'm sure it must have some sort of hot key combination that will take it into factory repair diagnostics mode.I would buy a ISO 9141 OBD II scanner in a heartbeat if it would connect to my nav system.

Lowell, If you had a one time "I Agree" button, hundreds of lawyers would go into a tizzy.Delphi produces the unit. Found this release: http://www.delphi.com/automotive/news/p ... 1032002and have been told it does have limited built in diagnostics if you perform some sort of dance. Ask your dealer next time your in.

Thanks for the link! I just sent an eMail directly to Delphi to ask my question about the Delphi Automotive Systems Communiport® Integrated Navigation Radio.The Nav system was the main thing that got me to buy a Vibe.

I will post anything I learn. I asked Delphi for help and have had no response so far. I imagine that a lawyer somewhere has designed that feature and no engineer at Delphi is brave enough to bypass him.

On most cars/trucks there is a computer programmable port to the left of the brake pedal, I haven't looked at my vibe yet but I am sure that it has one also, if so, I will see if it works like my previous 2001 Dakota R/T that I had. If so, I will see about helping you guys out with programming the annoying "I Agree" option.

Isn't that port for the engine cpu, I dont think the navigation system would use the same cpu.The engine cpu to my knowlege just takes care of the OBD-II functions.

It is but I think that the NAV system will be there also, I am going to try and look tonight if I get a chance but not sure if I will have time. Trying to help my father-in-law with a '95 neon getting it running again. If I can't get it done tonight, maybe I will have time to take a look at it this weekend.

It could be able to be programmed remotely. From the picture of the unit (Toyota-INR.jpg), it looks like the bottom circuit board has an empty connector for a ribbon cable that might run somewhere convenient to plug into. I just looked: there is a very well placed OBD II 16-pin connector.It looks just like the picture at http://www.obdii.com/connector.htmlThe Controller Area Network (CAN) pins seem promising. I don't have the hardware to make the connection. I've seen some cables to connect a laptop to OBD II but I doubt that would have the ability to program a CAN device.

Typically you would need specialized software to run on your computer to connnect to the OBD-II port which only a few people inside of GM/Toyota and Delphi would have. You would have to get a map of all of memory locations for the nav system, know the module address as well as other info in order to make the change. Then the changes you make would have to be in flashable memory. This isn't an easy task... I do something very similar at work. Maybe you could get the software from a different country that doesn't have the I agree?

If I had to guess, I would say that it is in every country that the software has this programmed in it.

Try this:To enter the navigation self-diagnostic mode, perform the following procedure:Turn the ignition to ACC, with the engine OFF. Turn the radio ON and insert the map disc. Press and hold the "TA" button on the navigation radio while turning the exterior lights ON and OFF 3 times. The navigation System Check Mode screen is displayed. Select "Menu" in upper right corner of the screen. The Diagnosis Menu is displayedYou can then enter service check, display check or navigation check. You can get things such as vehicle speed, latitude and logitude and a bunch of others. I doubt you'll be able to disable the "I agree button" but it's still interesting. Let me know if it works, as I don't have Nav.Hawke

Yes, it works. How did you learn about that? Is it in a Vibe service bulletin? The first screen says AVN [OK} and CD-CH2 [OK] - assume those are the two parts of the Delphi system shown at: http://www.delphi.com/images/vpr/ces200 ... a-INR.jpgI did find out model# AISIN AW V 168100E & disc V 00.00.04 - but nothing else related to programming. However, it is full of good things to know in case I need diagnostics. Thanks!

Glad to here it worked. When you first enter it performs a diagnostic check. If there were recorded diagnostic codes it would list them instead of listing OK.
