I get the impression that the Vibe is much more popular in Canada than it is in the U.S.Just from my own experience, I really don't see too many in the U.S. and until just recently I haven't been seeing TV commercials for them.I remember seeing a few commercials when they first came out but then they didn't get air time.Again, that's just my impression and maybe they just aren't that big in my area yet (although the day I picked mine up, two others were sitting there awaiting pick up as well...).
Your observation is a common one. The fact that it takes 6 months to recieve an ordered VIBE in Canada, does not in any way make it 'popular'. It makes it rare, but not popular. The idiots at GM Canada have intentionally starved the Canadian market of VIBES since inception. If you call GM Canada to inquire about the ridiculous wait times for a VIBE, they'll quickly tell you that it is a popular car. They are mistaken. There are not a lot of VIBES on the road in Canada. Not surprising, considering how long it takes to get one. There is certainly interest in the VIBE in Canada, but that interest is quickly squashed when you learn and the salesman tells you that you'll have to wait up to a year to get one if you order it. All the while, American dealer are awash in VIBEs and offering very lucrative incentives to purchase one. There are very little, if any, incentives on a VIBE purchase in Canada. Not because of popularity, but because it is being marketed by a bunch of idiots who couldn't market a car properly if their jobs depended on it, and it does!
Wow. Thanks for the info. I guess I was way off.It just seemed like an awful lot of Canadians are on these message boards. On another topic, I have relatives in Port Credit (right near Mississauga). What a great area. I love visiting.

I think the per capita number of people on the internet (with a broadband connection) in Canada is slightly higher that even the U.S.A. That might explain the high number of Canadians on the baord. I also frequent a coulple of other unrelated web boards, and there seems to be a high number of Canadians on them too. Go figure eh?

Cavaliers and Civic's duke it out for the best seller rather than the Lumina's and Accords the U.S. buyers want. Our Gas is 20% more expensive. GM Canada doesn't get it at all as VibeRater says.see http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=309 I happened the meet the dad of a lady who ordered a Vibe in good faith and went freaked on the dealer when she was later told 6+ months to wait. They are now searching Canada for a suitable car. I gave him this forum's url so we may hear from her.
