3-piece grill installed!

Post by Merzbow »

Well thanks to PsychoBroker, I now have a set of the 3-piece grills installed. I originally had the 4-piece set installed but I loved the look of the single long grill on the bottom instead. I took a few quick shots of it in my garage after the install. Of cours ethe pics turned out horrible thanks to the road salt and all teh snow/slush.PLEASE ignore how dirty my baby is. I'm gonna wash her Thursday inside and out. I'll take some fresh pics after that and post them here.

No, I didn't end up using the little piece. It fits fine how it is and doesn't move around, I used like 69 ties to make sure it wouldn't come off. If I would have used the little piece I think it would have stuck out too far. It does look amazing in person but I just need to wash it really bad so I can really see how it looks...god I can't wait until spring!!!!!!!!!!!!Hope, you better be buying another Vibe....although I gues if you don't that's fine as long as Phil keeps his. There has to be ATLEAST one Vibe per household

Looks awesome! Wish I would have waited long enough to get those instead of the 4-piece! Oh well. Won't need them after psychovibe's body-kit comes in anyways!

lol.I was debating on getting that kit since I have to replace my rear bumper anyways for $350! BUT, I figured it would look goofy with my stock 16s.

Question, I have wanted a 3 piece for a while now, does that involve cutting out the little piece that seperates the bottom grill? How does it look with the twisty ties holdinig it on?

no cutting or anything, just slide it in and it fits perfectly. You can't see the ties on either the tops or the bottom even when you look for them. There are little flat, square, aluminum clips on the back that you use for the zip ties.

You might even consider painting/powdercoating your stock rims..that would be sweet and cheaper than a full rim replacement..

I bet it would look just as good on yours and then just throw some spacers on there to push them out a little it would be awesome and cheaper than buying new rims/tires.

Yep, then paint your calipers red and pick up a set of caliper stickers from Ryan @ grafxwerks.com in a color that matches the new rim paint/powdercoat...schweeeet

Hmmm...the group buy discount is already up isnt it?Yeah my calipers are already red, and the road salt along with michigan weather has caused the paint to chip off and now it looks retarded...I can't do anything about it until spring either! That's one problem with powdercoating. It's not allways warm here like where you two live right now it's -2 mix that with road salt and you have a car's worst nightmare! lol.I think I'll hold off on the bodykit. Most important thing now is the springs and wheels. I think I'll keep my eyes peeled for another GM factory bodykit for lik $300 or so like the one I found the other day and use that on my two tone like the one here:

does the bottom one pull the oem grill? when i had just 2 zip ties (before i bought more) it was pulling on it pretty good, i hope it will be ok :SAnd what about placement? for the two upper grills i put 3 zip-ties on each, one in each corner, on the bottom i was thinking 4 going across the top and 4 on going across the bottom.

HAHA, most dealer employees don't even know what a brake caliper is. One of hte reps at a dealer by my house told me you couldn't buy superchargers for Vibes...Yea I remember the argement buying the grills brought about...and look at all I've got done now? The moral of this story? Don't tell your parents what your buying and htey wont be able to stop you (removed)! They should put that message on the cartoon channels.I actually convinced her to let me get my Ducati if you can beleive that...well you don't know her so it's not the same but she threatens to kick me out everytime I mentiona bike, but I told her I'm buying one when I get my bachelors degree regaurdless of what she says. I am old enough to make my own decisions but this is her house so...
