Hi,Has anyone located black mud flaps/guards for their Vibe??? The molded ones from GM are grey in color. Would need to be the custom fit/molded for Vibe, not generic model. Let me know if anyone has info. Thanks, Dennis
The only ones I've ever seen are the grey GM molded ones. BUT, you can paint them, with the right prep-work. Mine are coming off the car soon, to be painted Abyss to match my car. I was told not to get brand new ones painted; wait a few months and let them get weathered, and let all the plastic 'fumes' out so paint WOULD adhere.

The only ones I have seen are at autowebaccessories.comCick on Pontiac, than click Vibe and on the lefthand side will be "exterior and interior, click on exterior and on the righthand side you will see "most purchased items'. Mudflaps are (I believe) are at that site about $21 or $22.00per set (GM OEM)

DLTThe guy who is going to paint them is going to prep them with the new paint for plastic Krylon Fusion it kinda bonds to the plastic on a molecular level, then he is going to paint them with the correct colour for the Vibe, with some extra flex additive (they use the flex additive on the bumper covers anyway, adding some extra won't hurt)

I also have an Abyss Vibe and am interested in the "splash guards". Anybody have any luck at painting these to color match ? Also are these hard to install ? When I asked the salesman about ordering them, he said I would have to get them installed there ?!?

I e-mailed him and he said they have to take the tires off to install the splash guards. Can Anyone confirm/deny this ? I'm not sure if he was going to charge me, he's a pretty good guy.He said painting might not work well because of the plastic and the fact that it can bend. Someone mentioned this and maybe adding something to the paint. Not sure if I should bother getting these. Has anyone sucessfully painted these ? Also does anyone have a picture handy with these on a Black Vibe. Wonder how bad the gray looks on the black exterior.
Yes, they have to take the tires off to install the guards. I have tried the Krylon Fusion on a piece of scrap plastic, and after it dried, it was very flexible, as soon as the weahter clears a bit, my guards are getting painted. I'm using the semi-gloss, but they have a gloss, and a black metallic. I'll take pics ASAP.

Does anyone have pictures of these installed on an Abyss Vibe ? I'd like to see how it looks. Would like to get there ordered/installed before Winter. If they don't look too bad, I might put them on as they are (greyish color)

Let us know how your experiment goes with painting them black. If it works well maybe you could sell a few sets.Is that a decal on the word PONTIAC in the rear center of the car or is that painted ? I was thinking that might look nice to do something with that.
I got my splash guards today...took about thirty minutes to put them on (however, I live "on the edge" and only put two screws on my rears). They actually blend pretty well with the Moonstone mono color...NOW BRING ON THE SLUSH!

Maybe I should have got something with AWD and more ground clearance so I could just plow through everything
Hi everyone.. just picked up my 05 moonstone Base 2 weeks ago!!I'm also interested in mudflaps.. but was wondering if I get one from GM or from autowebaccessories.com - do I have to drill any holes on the car or will the mudflaps be big/long/high enough to match up with the 2 screws (along the side) I see in the wheel well?? My dad has a 03 Vibe and bought a mudflap from canadian tire supposedly for vibe but it's small that it's only matching with one of the screws in the wheel well.. which is not very secure and we didn't want to drill any extra hole to hold it in place..Thanks..
The mudflaps from GM and autowebaccessories.com are exactly the same thing. The only thing is, the ones from autowebaccessories.com are a couple of dollars cheaper than the GM ones.I ordered mine three weeks ago, and they came in last week. I was told it was only supposed to take four or five days to ship but I got an email from the company saying that it was an item in high demand and would take longer to get them. I eventually got them two weeks later! Oh well... that's the price to pay to save a couple of $$$I haven't had the chance to install them yet. I have to take my car to the dealership because my driver-side window is doing that popping noise thing when I roll the window down half-way so I was going to get that fixed then I was going to see if I can get them to install my mud flaps while they are at it! But to sum it up, I would go with the autowebaccessories.com only because you'll be paying less for the exact same thing compared to getting them from GM which in turn saves you $$$!

The grey ones are the only ones GM sells. I painted mine with the Krylon Fusion paint (satin black). After a month and several automated car washes, no scrapes or flaking. They look great. I did have alot of trouble installing them, You do have to take off the rear wheels. The little plastic expanable toggle pins bend and break too easy. I would up finishing the job with some stainless screws and painting over them.

I attempted to order a full set of mudflaps today from the Pontiac dealer that sold me my '05 AWD Vibe. The parts counter person said that they are no longer selling front mud flaps, only rears are available. He said there is a problem with fitment on the fronts and GM did not give a date for future release of an updated design. Anyone else hear about this? Is it safe to get some for a Matrix?
Hi,I installed the four GM mud flaps after purchasing my 05 Vibe. They fit fine. The most trouble was removing the existing bottom plugs/clips (ended up drilling them out). I also painted the grey flaps with the Krylon black paint (to match my black Vibe). After six months they still look good (painted many coats). Don't bother with the Matrix flaps as the base Matrix flaps do not fit the base Vibe (not sure about the other model Matrixs). Good luck.
Just wondering how the painted mud flaps are standing up?Just purchased an 07 platinum and the grey splash guards look terrible against the silver. Hoping that painting them black is an option.
