Describe your camera. I would try a SLR (35mm) on a tripod and set the shutter speed to a couple of seconds.

Actually I have a couple of camera options. I've tried a digital camera didn't work too well and a normal camera which also didn't work too well. I still have yet to try the 35mm any suggestions on film speed, etc...?Thanks

Try 400 ASA. Take a number of shots with various shutter speeds, I assume your 35mm is automatic. Try 2 sec, 5, 8, 10 and see what happens. When you get your results you are happy with, do scan and share with the group!

Right on Frosty! 400 kodak MAX always gives me the best light reproduction.

Use a tripod.... Set for a long exposure (few seconds minimum)

Try the macro mode on a digital camera. Just a hunch.

If your SLR has an option to keep the shutter open manually, I'd recommend getting a cable release and time it for 30 seconds or so. Also a faster film speed would work better, such as an ASA 1000.It couldn't hurt to have a little ambiant lighting too, because if it's too dark and all the lighting is from the neons, you might not get your car to show up very well.Just play around and document your settings for each shot so you can reproduce it later if you need to.

Oh yeah, don't forget a tripod.I haven't taken many night photos, but I did play around once when the Northern Lights showed up when I lived in Edmonton. There was also a time when I was driving on Highway 1 heading into Vancouver, I was bored so I dug out my camera, put it on the dash with the cable release, and had the shutter on manual and took a couple of shots.

a Digital camera might still be able to work. You can change the shutter speed on most of them. My digital camera allows for an 8 sec shutter. The idea is that the longer the shutter is open, the more light gets into the camera and exposed to the film or CCD.
