I followed the instructions in the iPod sticky to add the line in jack. I figured that the wiring for the six disk MUST be the same as my single disk. I appear to be wrong. When I insert a cd, and the switch is set to CD, the cd plays fine, but if I switch it to the line in connection, I get a "Check CD" error and the cd ejects. 1. What pins are used for the 04 M&T single CD?2. When this is wired correctly, do I need to put a CD in the player in order to use the aux input? Thanks,Lee
Hopefully someone can help you better on the wiring, but I don't recall anyone who's attempted this on the 1CD unit. (Most ppl get AUX adapters.) You may need to do the headphone trick and try the wires as described in the sticky to find the right ones. Once you do, yes, you will need a CD playing in order for the mod to work.

Lee, I've done this with my '03 Single CD player. I used wires 1 & 3 going from the CD player to the "main Radio". Yes, you need to have CD in the Player for the Aux input to work.Namron

The way I understod it, the unit couldn't use the Aux button and an Aux adapter. 2004 and up 1CD only (not 6CD) units can use the AUX button and AUX adapters. I have one, as do several other members. (Though some have it set up to use the BAND button instead).

I think I am going to have to use the headphone technique to find the correct pins. I would use an Aux Adapter as others have said I could, except I'm CHEAP. If I can't get this way to work, then i'll be forced to get the adapter. Which one would I use and what plug does it use on the back? Both my plugs are filled.Lee

Someone has posted getting it & the car-specific cable for about $85, I think. It goes in the 12-pin (smaller), but the harness has a place to plug in the original connector and pass what's needed for the M&T.Good luck with figuring out the wiring.

I got it working. I used the headphone technique and found that the audio is on wire 1 and 3 of the 6 pin connector, not the 15 pin connector. As someone else in another forum stated, the iPod has to be turned pretty high up in volume as well as the radio volume.. Now I only have to remember to turn my stero volume down when I switch from my iPod to my radio. Thanks to all who helped.Lee
