new vibe leaking oil?

Post by suzi »

We just got our vibe about two weeks ago and took it back to the dealer after I noticed oil on the floor of our garage. The dealer said there is no evidence of oil leaking from the car and could possibly be lubricant that is running off with the condensation from the a/c. It seems to be getting worse and it looks like OIL. has anybody else had this problem?

You could cut out a big piece of cardboard and park over it. Then take the cardboard to the dealership if your not sure what is leaking. Hopefully they will be able to tell you. Namron

I actually took a picture of the spill with a tape measure next to it to show the size (8" long) and then put a paper towel over the substance to bring in with the picture. I like your idea about parking over cardboard we will do that. I just think it is strange to have fluids leaking from a new car. Thanks for your help.

Check the oil level before you ever drive the car again. Check it every day until you get the problem resolved to your satisfaction. Don't let the dealer service people put your engine at risk, don't trust them to keep an eye on it for you.
