All in the Family...

Post by rebbierae »

My nephew's birthday was Monday, and he and my sister were going to my hometown in Iowa to celebrate, so I went down for the day Sunday. I pulled up to the house and there's a brand new Salsa Vibe in the driveway. My sister came out to meet me and I said "So who's salsa Vibe is that?" and she said "Mine!!"! She had a really nice Jeep Liberty, but decided that with gas prices the way they are, she wanted something that got better mileage. She likes my Vibe a lot, and the dealer back home just happened to have a salsa with a moonroof and the other options she wanted, so she traded in the Jeep. She said the Vibe gets almost DOUBLE the gas mileage, AND her car payment will be over $100 less each month! She was pretty happy with it, and I of course am VERY proud of my little sister joining the Vibe family! My dad was already asking where I got those orange "sticker" things (Grafxwerks overlays) and how much they were because that would be cool for her car too, and she's already talking cargo mat and a couple other things, so I hope she has a LOT of fun with it!

I'm trying--she already asked what the website is! She lives close to you, North--in the St. Paul area. The car had 22 miles on it when she got it, and we managed to put a few more on cruising around town--I had to show her all the "ins and outs" of it, and I got to see first hand the missing console cubby and charger down in the console.

My implication was more on the "sisterly advice" level regarding "snuggling" with a SO in the Vibe. Just trying to poke a little fun (no pun intended) and someone takes it to the obscene...

Sheesh, I'm going to be in the same club as Salsa! (wasn't that the guy??) one of these days with threads that are SUPPOSED to be innocent--you guys are getting me into trouble! NO, it is NOT related to the drive-in thread! I thought it was cool that my sister liked my car, liked what she read (she's a huge Consumer Reports person when it comes to this kind of stuff), and decided to get a Vibe based on that. I'm never typing on here again...

The GV moderators know you didn't intend for that; it's us who posted such replies that would get in trouble. My Dad liked my Vibe & what he read also, and so the parents have one now too. They are also big CR & Edmunds.com people when it comes to cars. In fact, my brother is considering a new car, and my Mom keeps telling him "get a Vibe". I know he's looking for something different, though.Congrats to your sister on her new Vibe! Hopefully she'll enjoy driving it as much as you have yours.

Definitely congratulations on your sister's purchase Rebbierae. My neighbor did that when I lived in Ohio. I bought a Saturn on their recommendation (several other recommendations as well, but that doesn't fit with this story). When it died (only 7 months after I bought it, incidentally) I bought the Vibe. Her Saturn died shortly after and wouldn't you know it, was replaced by a nice white Vibe.

SEEEE??? I KNEW it!! Before it was just a thought, a feeling, but I KNEW Millster had it out for me!! Actually, a guy here at my work just recently got a Vibe too, but I don't think he knew I had one before he got his. I have a little Matchbox Vibe on my desk and he saw that so we got to talking. But I'll keep working on other people--get them to make the change!
