So I am driving home the other night. I am only a few blocks from home. In the street light I see something fluttering like a big moth. Then as I get closer a big "THAWACK". Along the top of my windshield is a dusty imprint of a wing. A bat's wing. I hit a bat. No damage to the car but it was funny. Odd funny not ha ha funny. So I pose the question to all of you; "What is the oddest thing that you have hit or has hit you while driving?

when i was about 11 or 12 my family was traveling down a German Autobaun in a Topaz at about 80 mph and a pigeon hit the widshield right in front of my mom who was in the passener seat. Spooked us all really good.no damage at all to the car.
a couple of years ago when i was headed out to dinner with a friend of mine i saw this weird flutter under a street light out in front of me. about the time i figured out what it was, a 4 or 5lb owl slammed into my hood, bounce, and then wedged itself under my passenger side wiper blade. i was suddenly very, very happy that i always keep one of those rolls of blue shop towels handy.
In another car, I hit a bat, it got stuck in the grill. I left it there. Was my BatmobileI also got hit by a deer once. Saw one run across the road, so I slowed down, the second deer ran straight into the side of my car, hit me right in the rear quarter panel. It got up, stumbled away.Haven't hit anything noteworthy in the Vibe
Of all the things you can hit with while driving, I hit (or rather, got hit by).......... a tire! Yes, a tire. I was driving home one night in a Lexus (that's the car my mom gave me before I gave it back and bought my Vibe) and at around 10pm and I was on the freeway going 80mph on cruise control. Well everything was quiet and calm then up ahead I saw a tire laying in my lane and there were cars in both lanes either side of me and it all happened so fast that I couldn't switch lanes then all of a sudden... THUD!! I pulled over on the shoulder and slowed down to a stop and I looked at the damage that the tire had done. The entire front passenger side area below the bumper was destroyed. Parts were hanging and my fog light was gone... it was really bad. Parts of the front bumper, mostly the lower part, were gone and there were scratches everywhere. When I got home I had to explain to my mom how a tire damaged the front end of the car. She didn't believe me at first when I told her it was caused by a tire. She thought I hit another island and took down a road sign (I actually did that in a Ford Escort once. This was before I had the Lexus).Well shortly after that, I gave the Lexus back to her because 1, it was a gift that my stepfather had given to her before he passed away and I felt really bad for damaging it. 2, being that it was a luxury car, it was really costing me on insurance (I was paying $180.00 a month with Allstate). 3, it was too big of a car for me, more like a boat. So I decided to give it back and got me a Vibe. Best decision I've ever made! That's got to be the strangest thing I've hit so far. My sister hit a shopping cart once. On the freeway too! I dunno... maybe my family just ends up hitting odd objects instead of animals.

Well, it was a very odd occurance but here in VA, there are squirrels everywhere. You can walk down the street at any given time and see them on the telephone wires. So this was way back in the day when my dad had his good ol' Mercury Tracer (I was like 8~10) we stopped at a stop sign under this telephone wire and i hear a thud and look over and a squirrel fell through the open moonroof and was wiggin out in the car We both got out of the car and the squirrel flew out right past me. good times And plus, when I was in FL for spring break last year, an armadillo ran into the side of the neon I was driving, they must not be the most gifted animals on this earth

I was almost hit twice by deck chairs. I was on my way home from watching fireworks on the 4th of July, and a pickup with the cheap white plastic deck chairs was in front of me on the interstate. They were not properly secured and one flew out and hit the ground right infront of me and bounced OVER the car. That scared the shi* out of me and as soon as I changed lanes another one flew out of the back and landed where my car used to be.
Ok, here are some other things that have hit my car. While doing currier work in Manhattan I was hit by three pedestrians and three bike messengers. They all just kept going. Thats the goog thing about New Yorkers, no time for pain.A few years back I was traveling on the Long Island Expressway and what looked like a hood of another car fell out of the sky onto the front of my Subaru. Then it went under the wheels and I lost control. The Subaru did not survive but I did not hit another car even though it was nearly bumper to bumper 60 mph traffic.

I once hit an owl with the side view mirror of my '93 Toyota Camry. It actually turned the break away mirror in. I just had to twist it back and all was fine, except for the owl. couldn't even find it.
I hit a skunk, rather I drove right over it, not killing it, but it did definitely spray the undercarriage of my Vibe. Took about 3 months of continued cleaning using various agents and leaving it parked outside (too stinky to park in the garage) before the smell went away. And more notably, this happened earlier this year.
I personaly dont have any "strange" impactsI did hit a deer at 40mph with a Taurus and have hit small birds a couple of times while driving my parents' mini-van.
My mother hit a duck once.I've hit a feathered "thing", it ran out, and all I saw in the rear view was feathers everywhere. I don't know what it is.I've also had a robin get stuck in my grille.
Less than a month after I got my vibe going down the Interstate some jerk in an S-10 had 2x4's in the bed of his truck with nothing keeping them from sliding around and when he hit a pothole when came out right in to the front of my car skinning the hell out of the bumper and folding my liscense plate over, he saw he did it and sped up so i couldn't even catch his liscnse plate to call it in. Other than that and a jeep liberty nothing else hit my car except a buzzard.
