I haven't formally introduced myself. I purchaed my 2005 Vibe AWD (base; auto) on Aug. 18, 2005 (same day I signed up with genvibe.com)So far I have added Cruise Control and Factory Mudflaps.I work as a Sales Person for a Hyundai dealership (been with Hyundai for 10 years now, 8 years as a Mechanic)I also have a 2003 Hyundai Elantra GT 5spd. I have always loved the look of the Vibe, but was hesistant on getting a new model. So I ended up supporting the manufacturer I work for. But when GM had there Employee Discounts, I couldn't pass this up. Since my 2003 Hyundai is paid off, I thought I need to go into debt again...LOL!This is a great site with great people, there is still alot to learn about these cars. The other site I frequent (not so much now..hehe) is elantraxd.com There is way larger following for those cars.
welcome. congrats on the new ride!i'm sure colonel_panic will be picking your brain with questions, especially about the new elantra's! (i believe that's what he is wanting)

All I know was that my next car HAS to have AWD or 4WD.I could have gotten a Tucson, but the fuel economy isnt the greatest because its a V6. All I want is 4 cyl. Hyundai doesn't sell a 4 cyl AWD automatic, and that what I wanted. The Vibe/Matrix has it, so I got it.I can't wait for the snow!
Welcome to Genvibe. My brother is interested in getting the Tuson. This is after he totaled his Baja. He likes the Tuson fot the same reasons I like my Vibe, although not the gas milage. But being he lives across the street from his Navy base in Groton and the speed limit on base is twenty mph (ya, I cant even go that slow on a tricycle) gas milage is not a worry.
Monotone Neptune, pow pac, 17" stock rims, K&N air filter, bumper guard, custom pedels, brake light cover, billet oil cap
The Tucson are great vechicles, poven powertrain, quality is almost on par with the Japanese and best warranty in the business. Fuel economy was the bigest factory for me.Canada get half of the warranty you Yankees get.
Welcome aboard from another Hyundai guru! Glad you could put yourself in debt again and found us. It's a cool place to hang out... I've hung out around elantraxd a time or two as well, but never posted over there..The Elantra GT's a great car, I came close to buying one right before I ended up with the Vibe. But now that the Vibe's about due for replacement, I'm thinking '06 Sonata GLS (wanted the six, but need the 4 for economy) or if things get bad enough financially, the upcoming '06 Accent sure does look promising. lol! For the warranty... It was always my impression that Hyundai thought they didn't need the big warranty up there to boost sales (and reputation) like they had to here in the states.. Geez, and you guys had the Pony and Stellar too, before we had the Excel, what gives? lol! It would be nice if they gave it to you too! But I've heard here that we'll see that 10 year powertrain warranty go bye-bye and go back to a 60,000 mile in a few years as well, once the product has proven itself and sales reach a certain point, which it's well on its way of doing so. That's still better than many though.Glad to meet ya. The guys are right, I may be hitting you up for questions somewhere along the line. I frequently have something to say about a Hyundai product over in The Others forum. lol
