Of course, you pay 2x more for everything else so I guess it's still cheaper down here in the lower 48.

Here's something I hope the rest of you don't hafta see.... Gas, if you can find it around here, is not very cheap! I found this station charging $3.929/gallon, and they had just run out. I've seen at least 4 stations that are completely out of gas, in all grades... Luckily, I filled up on Monday night...

I passed some places yesterday that just broke the $3 mark. That's not the norm here though, prices range from 2.49-ish to 2.79ish at most plces.

I just paid $3.09 a gallon to top mine off for my weekend travels...$21 for 6 gallons of gas. Thankfully I'm getting 30 mpg even with city stop and go driving and *very* short distances, and am now driving basically about 10 miles a week if I stay here on the weekend, thanks to the bus system being so convenient. But geez, every station is $3.09...it's ridiculous.

The reason why it reads "$3.92" is because they took the first number "2" off and replaced it with a "3" and hadn't gotten to the last numbers yet.

ran out my (removed). you can't tell me that we've run out of gas just 2 days after the hurricane hit. this is just price gouging. and bush won't do anything about it, he's making record profits right now.and i saw that GM offerd to defer payments for 90 days for those hit by the hurricane, and also donated a bunch of trucks and $500,000 to the relief effort.you think you'll see any oil companies donating any of their record profits to help?

Stick this in yer pipe and smoke it!Stick a fork in 'em, they're done. For now, I suppose. Not sure what the deal is there. But obviously they don't have anything to sell.A more realistic number:Note that they didn't even want to tell us the price of 89 and 93 octane...That's today's status report of beautiful, sunny southern Indiana! 87 octane in the area could be found for $2.44 and perhaps lower on Sunday night.

Just paid $105.9 a litre of regular unleaded, although that was for the van, Vibe isn't ready to eat just yet.The place where I fill has $0.05 credit back, so I guess that's helps a little...Still being bent over by the gas companies... Can someone please explain how the gas already in the tanks at the station suddenly got more expensive?

In Montreal tonight, gas prices were oscillating between $1.154 and $1.349 CAN. Gas does a 20 cent bounce after Katrina hurricane. They were talking a month ago about an increasing of the gas price that was suppose to climb to $1.20 max for next chrismas period...They were under estimate gas market a little bit!

Wow, usually everything is more expensive here, but I just filled up on my way home for $2.89. I figured I better get it now b/c who knows how much it's going to go up.As much as it sucks, I just feel lucky that I still have my car, a place to live, food, water, and most importantly my family and pets are still alive. What is happening down there in LA is unreal.

Topped off the neon this afternoon for 2.73 (87 octane) Just as they finished putting up 2.81 on the sign and before they changed the pumps. Then tonight we filled up the Vibe for 2.99 (87 octane) Just doesn't seem right that six hours is worth $0.26/gallon.

Got a discussion with my wife about gas price explosion. There's nothing we could do really! As a lot of peoples says in the past, we have to be moderate during our transport trip: Planning direction, be gentle on the pedal, keep tire well inflated, exchange air filter and oil filter regularely, keep as low as possible the weight of loose objects in the trunk, use of A/C with commun sense andlike some people mentionned: keep your car cleaned and waxed! Have e nice day everyone!

Allegedly, two major pipelines that supply the southeast and some of the midwest were out of commission have now come back in service, One fully, one partially... Hmm, maybe we'll se gas go down by a nickel tomorrow!

I know I was probably one of 'em who was. demonstrates my geezitude, but the first time I paid for gasoline was as a wee lad, buying gas for the lawnmower to try to make a few dollars cutting lawns in the neighborhood. Was 29.9¢/gallon. Today, the cheapest I saw was $2.999/gallon. So, officially, gas now costs an order of magnitude more than what I first paid.

My biggest fear is that now that we are paying such a high price for gas the price won't go down at all. I really don't recall in history that the price of gas has gone down after the all the problems that caused the rise was resolved. I'll bet by the end of 2006 we will be paying $4.00 a gallon.
