The 05 Vibe owners manual specifically states that I should only use oil that meets GM6094M standard and has the API starburst symbol on the container.Bottom line question for me on this is - how important is it to get this "GM" certified oil when this is a Toyota engine?? What does the Matrix manual say to use for oil? I ask because the only 5w-30 weight oil my local Grease-N-Go has is Valvoline - and they have been doing minor maintenance like this on my cars for years and I trust their work - so it seems stupid that I'm looking for a GM specification for a Toyota engine and not able to use people I trust to work on my car.Thoughts? If I'm changing my oil on schedule and not driving in races should it be an issue?
