New Guy!

Post by FLABSLAB »

Hello everyone! I'm the new guy on the block. I just bought my brand new vibe and LOVE it. I've already put 150 miles on it and haven't even used half a tank of gas yet. I just got rid of a Dodge Dakota 4x4 and it only got around 12-13 mpg. I'm in heaven. Oh, and so my opinion so far:Pros:mpgBOOMIN sound systempeppy and turning radiusroomyseatsthe headlight automatic thingycons:a/c seems a little lackingever so slightly under power, but for the mpg I'll take itno armrest...what's up with that? All in all tho...I think I've found a car I'm gonna keep for a LONG time.FLABSLAB

Welcome!!! Yeah, the 03-04 armrests are nice, you may be able to order one from http://www.gmpartsdirect.comYeah, the Vibe is a fun car. You can squeeze a little extra power out of it with a few mods if you are so inclined.

Welcome To GenVibe! Did you get the Base, AWD or GT? Auto or Manual? Color?1) For the A/C there is a mod you can do to wrap the lines in the engine bay.2) For the lack of power you can get a Short Ram Air intake that will add approx. 7hp.3) For the center arm rest you can look for on from a '03 or '04 the has the taller dual storage center armrest.Congratulations on your Vibe purchase, and enjoy your stay here!

Welcome to GenVibe! Lotsa answers here for all your mod questions.A/C insulation mod:http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id ... d=1315Note: You only want to insulate the cold line (the one with the valve cap), NOT the hot line.I did mine just after I got my car last spring and it's a noticable difference. In fact, I only run my A/C half the time when I'm driving; it's that cold. And, I'm in Houston.

Welcome aboard, fellow Hoosier! Good to have another Indiana person around. Quote, originally posted by tangerine »those of you who don't have cold A/C's must live in the deserts. mine was almost too cold. Yes, our cars aren't quite equipped to deal with desert climates... I'm having a heck of a time with mine here in the Indiana desert. heh
