I'm trying to help my girlfriend get out of her very unsafe 93 neon thats having al lot of problems and she likes the Nissan Z roadster which there is only one at any dealer in the area and none driving around which is good since she is like me and hates driving a car that there are 10000000000 of on the street next to you. Sooo I'm wondering if these are a good reliable car? I don't wanna get someone I car about in a car thats unsafe or problem prone.

Yea she normally rides with me in bad weather. It looks to be a durable car but looks can be deceiving as i found out with the car i had before my vibe. i guess the best thing for me to do would probably take it out for a drive and see how it handles once doc tells me i can drive.

That's a heck of an upgrade... 12 year old Neon to that? To be honest, if I was looking for a "safe" vehicle, which it seems that you are, I wouldn't have a sports car anywhere on my shopping list. They may hold up fine in accidents for all I know, but they're still a sports car. And with that sports car comes an increased risk of accidents- which car would you want to drive faster? The Neon or the Z? IIRC, you guys are pretty young, right? if so, insurance is absolutely going to be brutal on the Z. If I was in your situation, I'd try to find a safe, reliable vehicle that isn't as sporty and stick with that for a few more years.

(I'm gonna get flamed for this) But you try changing a womans mind she either wants that or a mazda 8. I am really thinking of making her go for that mazda since i don't know alot about nissans other than the skyline.

Seriously..if you want a good all around sports type car wait for the mazdaspeed6. 4wd close to 274hp 280lbs-tq. http://www.mazdausa.com/MusaWe...peed6I'm REALLY anxious to see this car. Another car to concider is the infinity g35 same car basically, but you can get it in a sedan or coupe, but sorry no convertable. Plus it comes in awd so she'll have piece of mind in foul weatherhttp://www.infiniti.com/OR even better would be one of the new Lexus IS models coming outhttp://www.lexus.com/2006is_pr...20263

Man I love that caryes, no kidding! first time i saw one, it was black, tint, debadged and i had to follow it to try and figure out what the hell it was! i saw that shiny dual exhaust and was drooling on myself! lol
I haven't seen any of those legacy's. are they just a slightly larger impereza? (sp?) I do like the looks and hear they pack a punch. Plz tell me about this car as I think if I showed her one she'd most likely love it and an AWD would be nice.

The legacy chassis is bigger than the imprezza. It shares the same 2.5 boxer engine as the STi, but 50hp less and 50 lb-tq less. The legacy is the luxury line for subaru. There's nothing lacking in this car. Just make sure you get the GT model
I am in love with the mazdaspeed 6 uhhh cant wait for that. sube legacy's are bad (removed), I sat in one at the car show its like a luxury sports sedan. cant go wrong with mazda or sube
Get a G35. Same thing, but classier, and I think it's better looking. And there are less of those than Z's. The coupe is 2wd only, the sedan you can get in awd. The car will be the usa skyline with a diff motor and awd in the next few years.

I went to the SAME EXACT stretch of road that I have done all of my testing on to be as consistant as possible. As a recap here were my bests on that same stretch with the same G-Tech through my different mods...........Stock 6.02 (2800 RPM TQ Break)+ Pullies 5.74 (3000 RPM TQ Break) + Pullies + AP Stage I 93 v1.10 5.41 (3000 RPM TQ Break)So as you can see the mods (even if the G-TECH isn't totally correct) were helping the car. In all those runs I never broke the tires loose at all EVER.Now for tonight !!!!!!!!!!!!!!71 degress out and not very humid+Pullies + AP Stage II 93 v1.10 (Crucial UP and DP as stated above)Run #1 being very very cautious b/c it was my first WOT since the install5.10 in sport mode 3000 RPM TQ BreakRun #2 ok nothing broke so I started to go for it 4.83 in sport mode 3200 RPM TQ BreakRun #3 again noting broke and I was flipping out so went for it again4.77 in sport mode 3400RPM TQ BreakNow for the winner!!!Run #4 one more time in Manual Mode4.73!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 3700 RPM TQ Break. I broke the tires loose on 3 of 4 runs too!!!!!I don't understand why but the car can hold TQ Breaks into the 3000RPM range now where it would break loose about 700 RPMs earlier at stage I. I think it is because of the super fast spool of stage II now. Has to be. Anyway I am like freaking out now hahah. This is soo awesome. That now beats my 1997 Camaro 0-60 for the fastest time I have ever acheived in one of my cars. That ran a 4.81 http://legacygt.com/forums/att...=9327
well unless they find a way to turbo or s/c the 1zz with driveby wire, after todays sucky news I may end up getting a black legacy GT with the sport auto.

Question is, you want the Z or she does? If she wants something else... I got nothing against those mazda 6. Beautiful, powerful and a winter vehicle. Plus parts to repair anything would cost less as well. Oh and think of the insurance to.

I would love a manual but parents would rather I not after doctor saying my arm is never gonna be 100% with reflex and grip. So its either a legacy, cobalt ss, or something else fun to drive thats automatic and sporty. (even though thats a complete oxymoron)
04 Fusion Orange Base Vibe auto Now no longer with us thanks to ignorant drivers...
hmm, then I gotta see how that comes out. I'm gonna hold off on buying until I'm able to drive. I wanted to get that GT purchased in a hurry but since I can't drive a stick now I'll just wait till I'm healed. thankfully out of the stuff i purchased nothing was specifically for vibe except the tint and exhaust i had ordered but they are refundable.

(even though thats a complete oxymoron)um no. i can bet you that my LGT is by far more sporty than my vibe GT would ever be! yes, i do miss the 6MT sometimes, but boy can my 5EAT kick my vibe's (removed) any day of the week, even if i power launched in 2nd gear! you can still get something sporty and fun to drive, but keep in mind that a vibe GT, cobalt SS, saturn ion are NOT sports cars. they may have pep, but 200 hp? come on! that's NOT a sports car. and not that my Legacy is a sports car, because it really isn't. but $1500 and it will beat a stock STI.
black LGT's are so sexy! here's a link to legacy.com's thread on ALL black LGT's. there are some that are soooo sweet!http://www.legacygt.com/forums...=1500
the zero sports Legacy rocks! mmmm! i wish i could afford the body kit, turbo upgrade, downpipe, TBE, accessport..... the list goes on and on! lolalso like this one too:interior of a 5EAT (auto). yes those are shift controls on the steering wheel, both sides. unfortunately they do not control the radio. man, i need to get some good interior shots of the car! lol
whoa! I just told mommy and daddy I'm getting a legacy that top pic with the body kit just made me drool. So they do have alot of options for'm? Now to find a subaru dealer and see what that car is gonna cost me.

that forum says LGT's are rare and I'v never seen one so i hope there is one. looks like holding out till i can drive isn't gonna happen I nowa want this purchased with a car cover setting in my garage waiting for me.

Silver is sweet, I believe the LGT trdvibe has is the regal blue, but black is definitly the best looking. Although I saw a white one and oh man..I usually don;t like lwhite, but...wow
no, i have an atlantic blue legacy gt limited. if you click on my signature pic, it'll take you to my photobucket album of the car. there are also a couple subalbums of various "mods" i have done. I'm still working on gutting out the uppipe (car has 3 cats) and that's supposed to give me about 15 whp on the low end and smooth out the transmission. i'm told also, the cobb ap (chip) will also help smooth out the shifting and will bring the car from stock 250 hp to about 285-290 hp. once you go stage 2, you're talking over 300 hp and hella fast times! mid 13's quarter mile and 0-60 in about 4.7 sec.
plenty of performance mods but exterior mods look to be for the japaneese line only. sucky, that K2K2 kit makes me want a wagon and that Gaila kit is just flat out beautiful.

Legacy GT has a few mods but most of the Subaru popularity lies with the WRX. They have the most mods available. Those 230HP turbo WRX can with a couple mods, be faster then a stock WRX STI. But the Legacy is still a great car as well but if your wanting to go completely all tuner, power and appearance mods... WRX is where it lies.

yeah, road and track, or was it car and driver... anyway did a drive comparison between STI and Evo... STI got best over all for power and interior... they hated the Evo plastic. I've never been in an Evo but one of the guys we know here in AK took the wife for a ride in his.

And if your more into the legacy look... the 06 (which isn't on the site yet) its headlamps are very simular to the Legacy. Of course there is the grill changes but I don't mind those.
