I need tire help.

Post by tangerine »

I'm starting off with the factory 17 inchers till i decide which 19 inch wheels i wanna buy but i hate the factory tires. What is a good performance tire that will also keep me from sliding sideways when i leave a stop light in wet roads? I did that EVERY time i left a stop on a rainy road in my old vibe and its annoying.

maybe not the performance you're looking for, but the Michelin HydroEdge has stopped that embarassing sideways lurch for me!I think they're H rated so the sidewalls may not have the ridgidity you're looking for....(only going by assumption that change to 19" also means you want something with high performance).

The Hydroedge was my heavily-researched fisrt choice, but then the Goodyear Triple Tread appeared and is rated even higher. Got a set for my wife's Buick and they are really great for ride, noise, rain and snow!

same here madbill, heavily researched too. but i ended up with the michelins as i already had lukewarm results with goodyear (eagle hp) and the mxv tires i put on my wife's car really impressed me.
