A/F Gauge pic

Here is a picture of the Air/Fuel gauge I bought. I have it wired to the side compartment until I get the other two gauges. Then I will mount them on the A-pillar or maybe in a different clever location if I can think of one.I might get the other two gauges in the Autometer Cobalt series instead of Sport Comp., because the Cobalt series are illuminated and I'm not sure if the Sport Comp. series gauges are.This is a picture of the gauge in action. For lal those that do not know, the gauge is constantly cycling from lean to stoich because of how the engine runs. If you are cruising at a certain rpm and let off the gas, it will sink into lean and then slowly fluctuate again. Of course when you floor it, the gauge will jump into Rich until you ease off the gas, in which it will go back to fluctuating.

No, there's a plastic piece inside the dashboard thatprevents that... If I were to cut a hole in there it would work That's a good idea though!

I like that gauge, the LEDs and whatnot, and yea, my gauge fluctuates all of the time, I have one with a needle and it gets pretty annoying when you are driving down the road at night and see this dancing light to your side.

Funny! I just installed one in my car, too. Getin' ready for the S/C install next weekend. I put mine in the center air vent. It looks really good in there! And the way I have it, you still get air out of it. The only bad thing was that while I was screwing on the nut to hold it on the vent screen, the nut slipped and rolled all the way down the air vent! Mine, though, at idle and when I let off the gas runs rich and runs lean on sight to full throttle.Did you all attach to the blue wire under the pass. carpet (second O2 sensor) or did you use the first O2 senser wire?

I used the sensor onthe header, so the first one. I connected it to the purple signal wire. The O2 sensor at the cat isn't strong enough I heard.

I'll be needing some assistance with this soon guys! Should be getting the SC in this week and hopefully installed shortly thereafter. How hard/easy was this to install? Where's a good place to get one?

I bought mine from Jeff (Devlop) in the spring. on a scale of 1-10, 10 being the easiest, the install is probably a 8 or 9. I gues it depends on how steady your hands are while splicing the sensor signal wire..you can't cut it or it's bad news! then once you splice into there, you just need a positive and a ground and you're all set. I wired mine to the ignition so it turns on with the accesories...those digital multimeters come in handy.I would recomend Autometer, that's what I have. http://www.autometer.com shows you all the different styles. I personally like the "C2", "Lunar", and "Cobalt" series the best.

I saw that site. They do have some nice guages. I was also looking at the boost guages for the SC but the ones they have are WAY too big in terms of units. They are almost all 0-35psi, where the SC will probably only need a 0-10 guage. They also didn't have prices.

That's a manufacturer's site that's why there are no prices...for some reason when you go to official websites they never post prices which irritates the hell outa me. I would say it would cost from $60-$90 for a gauge. If you want a pyrometer though those cost from $130-$200!!!

Well I did not know all that. Thanks for sharing! Now I can impress my friends lol j/k. I knew the O2 after/at the cat measured emissions that's why I used teh header.

Not sure i like the gauge in the left flip down console not very useful and hard to see i like the vent though looks good i did by an XM to fit my center console fits real nice besides what are you guys trying to monitor???

The reason i put mine in the left compartment is because I do not have the other two gauges im putting in yet so whats the point? I just hooked it up to hook it up and I hid it in the compartment so now one could see it until I get it up on the a-pillar.

yes, if i remember correctly, jeff installed his guage in the center air vent originally. it looked SWEET! man, it's a shame he had to get rid of all his turbo gear. but i'm sure the next time he does it, it'll be even better than the first!

In that picture, the engine isn't running.But your saying I should use the O2 sensor on the header, right? I was wondering that and asked a few people and they all said to use the sensor closer to the exhaust. But I understand what you said and it makes sense. I'll try that this weekend after the new oil pan instal.Thanks MadBill!
