Post by darcmater »

I recently purchased a 2005 vibe and am haveing a hard time finding parts to customize it with, everything seems to be for 2004 and older. any suggestions on some web sights and also is the tail lights for the 2005 matrix the same as the vibe tail lights.

Not sure what parts you are looking for, some will be the same as the 2004, some would be different. I'd expect the exhaust, suspension should be the same, but the throttle difference between the 2005 and the older Vibes probably affects stuff like intakes, supercharger, etc, The major difference betweeen the Matrix and the Vibe is the exterior, so Matrix taillight asemblies s won't fit the Vibe. Some people have been looking hard but in vain for alternate taillights for the Vibe, there is this thread http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=18331 where someone is trying to demonstrate enough demand to get some made.

Congrats on the Vibe. Enjoy it and good luck on the mods! Even without any mods, the vibe is still a pretty cool little car.

welcome to gvc. as someone already said, there are numerous parts that are interchangeable from one model year to the next regarding engine or performance parts depending on what model you have. from my understanding, there are no or very little differences on the base models. most of the changes were made with the gt or 2zz engines. springs, strutbars, suspension mods basicly, unichips are the same with each corresponding model year matrix, interior parts the same, but NOT exterior. there are a lot of people who have done some incredible things with their vibes, making them unique and custom exterior, interior and engine. let us know what model you have and what you are wanting to do and maybe we can be of better help to answer your questions.

Was looking for a 5 pc grille insert tail lights, exhaust, intake, rims, inparticular. Found a grille finally from mrgrille.com last night. Already did what i wante dto the interior which was put in a nice little stereo : ) the amps/subs have a nice black/silver finish that matches the interior nicely plus the box for the subs is done in a carpet that matches the light gray interior. should post a pic, the installers did a nice job on it
