First and foremost, welcome to the family! Not sure if we have anyone who has done this on their own, but we do know it's possible to get a Toyota dealer to install cruise... See this thread for the confirmation. Of course, that all depends on getting them to believe that these cars do have Toyota mechanicals. Now, if you're doing this on your own, you would want to look into the type of throttle setup your car has. Good luck with the project, and keep us posted. Welcome aboard!

Someone here got to add Cruise by just getting the additional stalk and a different ECU. I think it was in the ball park of $200?The '05's are all drive-by-wire, so there is no cable to pull on. Aftermarket isn't an option.

Thanks for the warm welcome!I will let you know how the crusie install goes, or I may just end up getting the Toyota shop to do it for me instead.

I just checked my 2005 Vibe AWD, and it has a cable throttle set up. Is it still possible for the Toyota dealerships install the Matrix cruise control on a cable throttle set up?

If it is a cable throttle, then yes, it should be easy for them to do. If it was the fly-by-wire, I don't think they could..

Cruise Control is IN!My Vibe ended up having an aftermaket unit installed, apparently some 2005 Vibe's was equiped with either:1. Drive by wire; all you need is just the switch2. Cable throttle (a) factory switch and factory servo. (cruise harness installed from factory)3. Cable throttle (b) aftermarket switch and servo and module

Pardon my ignorance - what is "drive by wire?"How does that differ from cable throttle? Is it an improvement?

Drive By Wire uses an electrical motor to control throttle opening. There is no physical cable that is hooked up to the throttle body. This is all computer controlled.

I have 2003 Vibe so definitely is the cable driven version.Anyone know the parts I need to order from Toyota to install myself? What are good online vendors - there seems to be a lot when I google? What about getting this from a GM or Pontiac online vendor, possible?Anyone know if the 2003 has the wiring loom present for cruise control?I prefer to install the OEM part rather than the Rostra one - the latter costs $220 approx so would have thought I can get the OEM one in for around the same if I do it myself. Also I called one Toyota dealer and one Pontiac in SF BAy Area and both said they can't do it.Looking at the Rostra control switch it doesn't appear to have a cancel function which I use all the time on other cars. Am I wrong?
