So this month I want to do some upgrades to the Vibe before summer's gone.1) Remote door locks ($325 installed, next week)2) Cosmo CAI ($109 + S&H, ordering today)3) Air conditioning insulation (cheap ) 4) Fog light switch and bypass (cheap )5) Replace front speakers. (100 to 150, next week when the door skins are off)I'm looking for recomendations and part numbers for replacement two 6.5" front speaker. I want to improve the med- and high-end response. Eventually I'll get a new head unit and amp, when I can afford it.Polk, Infinity, JL Audio Cerwin Vega are all great brand. Should I get coaxial? What's been your experience? Thanks Andrew
Um..do you have power locks already? Or did you get it without the power-package?Those brands are all good. If you want to get components (which are better than coaxials), you'd probably need to upgrade to an external amplifier to get the best sound..otherwise coaxials are just fine.
2003 Vibe GT Lava"He inched his way up the corridor as if he would rather be yarding his way down it.""For a moment, nothing happened. Then, after a second or so, nothing continued to happen." - Douglas Adams...we all miss you
I got the base Vibe without the power locks so the aftermarket kit comes with the actuators. I didn't get the power package in order to save some cash, big big mistake. I really need it now cause I'm the primary transport for my son and reaching into the back to unlock the door really sucks, especially in winter wearing a thick coat. I thought my Vibe would just be my weekday commuter so only one door to open, mine. Kids change everything.I think I'll try to find component speakers to match with an amp at a later date.
in my opinion, there's not a better speaker than infinity either reference or kappas.I have planned a complete infinity speaker setup with sony headunit at christmas
Installed a set of Infinity Reference 6.5's a few months ago....what a big difference.... and I have the moon and toons package...sounds much better....
