Its a dual 4ohm sub, so each sub can be wired into 2ohm or 8ohm. If you wish to bridge the speakers for a monoblock amp then you could get a 1ohm or 4ohm load. That will greatly depend on the amp you are looking into. You will need about a 1000rms amp to run them effeciently.

Just FYI - I'm hoping you're not expecting world-ending performance from this product. It is a very low-buck lineup with a poor track record. If you're happy with it, don't let anybody else tell you otherwise. Just beware that you truly do get what you pay for in car audio.I'd VASTLY take an entry level Kenwood or Clarion subwoofer over this one any day of the week....bmoney

Any reccommendations on subs, looking for 12"mtx (what i have) sells subs that give you lots of bump for your buck. a lot of times, you can get them at circuit city buy one get one free! their amps are good for the price as well. sure, the lower end stuff they have (what i have) may not be competition winning equipment, but it sounds great and you don't have to spend a grand either.

Between me and a buddy we had MTX 6ks and 8ks I ran 2 12s on a ZR240 then a JL Audio 300/2 they sounded good but the leads were always a problem. If your shooting for cheap but can get pretty loud, go on ebay pickup 2 Kicker Comp VR 12s that are dual 2ohm coils. Should be around 150 total for both minus shipping. Pick up a nice 600watt amp for 600rms@2ohm. You should be pretty happy.

You are DEFINITELY going to want to try to find some Eclipse 8800 series woofers on Ebay...seeing as how you got the box designed for them! Kidding...Any woofer that will work in 1 cu. foot will slam in that box. It is about 2 cu. ft. total.

OH yeah....and you will want to find an XTANT X603 amp as it fits the amp cutout on that box as well! FYI

Okay, so I decided against the Volfenhags but I found some nice subs and was wonderin, do they have to be the same OHM as my car? What is my stereo's OHM?

Your 'car' doesn't have an OHM rating. The subs do.You have to determine what subs you want, then find an amp to match that 'ohm' rating with the RMS power the subs can handle.

YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!
Man, that thing is HUGE! 369 lbs! That sure would hurt your car's performance! What is the point of a sub like that? I bet it would shatter your windows. A few years ago when I worked at Best Buy, they had a demo Tahoe with a huge system in it. I don't remember what they had, but they had to keep the windows rolled down because when they test it out it could shatter the windows. It rattled the entire store and gave us and the customers head aches. About 6 months later they finally got rid of it after so many complaints. Management was in denial and thought the customers liked the booming music while they shopped! It was rediculous.

That's literally the only reason to have something like that. Pushing 12,000watts is NOT that easy.. I did see the Excursion that MTX used to put three of those things in, though.. They also had one mounted to the back of a golf cart in fiberglass to drive around and show it off..
