Answering this question will really show my age...I guess I'd want some sort of variety: The Beatles Greatest Hits (Sgt Pepper if you consider compilation albums a cop out to the question), Metallica Black album, Nirvana Nevermind.

Good question, this is tough...The Eagles - Their Greatest Hits (1971-1975)Bon Jovi - Slippery When WetElvis Presley - Elvis: Ultimate GospelHad you said four, I would have added Raymond Leppard (the conductor of the English Chamber Orchestra) - Great Performances: Baroque Favorites.

Mine changes all the time, depending on what's new out there. Right now it would have to be:1. Coldplay: X&Y2. Dishwalla3. Elton John Live in Australia with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. But that could all change when a new cd comes out!!

Eternity is such a long time and musical taste can change over time...if I were asked that question back when I was 13 I would have chosen The Doors as one of my albums. I listened to The Doors all the time back then. I knew the lyrics to almost all of their songs. All of a sudden I realized "I don't care for the (keyboard) organ sound". Within a six month span I couldn't stand listening to any Doors song that accentuated the (keyboard) organ; which is 80-90% of their songs. Can you imagine being stuck listening to a sound you find annoying for eternity?

I probably wouldn't take anything commercial...just because I rarely like *every* song on a CD and I'd get sick of listening to 5 or 6 songs out of each one over and over, so why not make 3 CDs of my own with 20+ songs each? It would definitely have some Linkin Park though, and Hootie and the Blowfish. Sons of the Desert, Eminem, Lifehouse...(OT: What's with all the wife-hating on this site lately? Heh.)

U2-The Joshua Tree (no matter what anyone ever says to me, it's the greatest pop/rock album ever recorded, and easily one of the ten best albums of any kind ever recorded)Eric Johnson-Venus Isle-(greatest living guitar player, melodies that make you want to leap from a building because you believe you can fly when you hear him play)Any of the various recordings of Beethoven's 9th, preferably Telarc-(hey, i'm a piano player, and this is what inspired me to play piano)

Now it's MY turn to fall over laughing! Actually though, Hootie & the BF just had a new release on Tuesday, so they've made a comeback of sorts! And you can see Whitney and Bobby in Dysfunctional hell on their tv show each week (never watched it though), and Mariah Carey has a semi-new cd out too! So there! Can't stand Mariah or Whitney, but I'm a Hootie fan! What's wrong with the late 90's??

The person with that nickname is just a friend of the band...Darius Rucker was in the BK commercials though. (And not his best work...heh.) They've really continued to evolve as a band though, and I think it's sad that so many people only regard them for their first album and don't even know they're still around. Every one of their albums since Cracked Rear View has been different musically...good stuff.
