Answering this question will really show my age...I guess I'd want some sort of variety: The Beatles Greatest Hits (Sgt Pepper if you consider compilation albums a cop out to the question), Metallica Black album, Nirvana Nevermind.

Good question, this is tough...The Eagles - Their Greatest Hits (1971-1975)Bon Jovi - Slippery When WetElvis Presley - Elvis: Ultimate GospelHad you said four, I would have added Raymond Leppard (the conductor of the English Chamber Orchestra) - Great Performances: Baroque Favorites.
Just because you see Charlie doesn't mean I am a he....sometimes Charlie can be a she!!!!
Mine changes all the time, depending on what's new out there. Right now it would have to be:1. Coldplay: X&Y2. Dishwalla3. Elton John Live in Australia with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. But that could all change when a new cd comes out!!
U2 - Joshua TreeLinkin Park - Reanimation cdand..................................The Black Eyed Peas - Monkey Business(prefer my own burned cd's in mp3 format - but if I had to choose...)
Eternity is such a long time and musical taste can change over time...if I were asked that question back when I was 13 I would have chosen The Doors as one of my albums. I listened to The Doors all the time back then. I knew the lyrics to almost all of their songs. All of a sudden I realized "I don't care for the (keyboard) organ sound". Within a six month span I couldn't stand listening to any Doors song that accentuated the (keyboard) organ; which is 80-90% of their songs. Can you imagine being stuck listening to a sound you find annoying for eternity?
Quote, originally posted by silver_vibe »Can you imagine being stuck listening to a sound you find annoying for eternity? Get married! Kidding of course.
I probably wouldn't take anything commercial...just because I rarely like *every* song on a CD and I'd get sick of listening to 5 or 6 songs out of each one over and over, so why not make 3 CDs of my own with 20+ songs each? It would definitely have some Linkin Park though, and Hootie and the Blowfish. Sons of the Desert, Eminem, Lifehouse...(OT: What's with all the wife-hating on this site lately? Heh.)
Quote, originally posted by Mavrik »*falls over laughing*hey now! watch it! i don't think i could pick just 3 cd's unless they were ones i could burn myself. as everyone else has stated, there aren't any that i enjoy all the songs on. plus, listening to the same 3 over and over and over again.... i'd go crazy and drown myself in the water! lol

U2-The Joshua Tree (no matter what anyone ever says to me, it's the greatest pop/rock album ever recorded, and easily one of the ten best albums of any kind ever recorded)Eric Johnson-Venus Isle-(greatest living guitar player, melodies that make you want to leap from a building because you believe you can fly when you hear him play)Any of the various recordings of Beethoven's 9th, preferably Telarc-(hey, i'm a piano player, and this is what inspired me to play piano)
Now it's MY turn to fall over laughing! Actually though, Hootie & the BF just had a new release on Tuesday, so they've made a comeback of sorts! And you can see Whitney and Bobby in Dysfunctional hell on their tv show each week (never watched it though), and Mariah Carey has a semi-new cd out too! So there! Can't stand Mariah or Whitney, but I'm a Hootie fan! What's wrong with the late 90's??
I still have the first hootie cd somewhere in a box... with that "I only wanna be with you" hit of theirs on it. Nothing wrong with the 90s... just having flashbacks is all lol.

The Tragically Hip - Fully CompletelyGarbage - 2.0Pink Floyd - Echoes...this would probably be the ONLY time i'd pay for satellite radio though...unless the island was within range of a country with decent FM stations!
I have signatures turned off so I'm not even sure what mine says in this space!
Quote, originally posted by drunkenvibe »no, he was the coyboy in the BK commercials."Hootie" isn't actually in the band though. The person with that nickname is just a friend of the band...Darius Rucker was in the BK commercials though. (And not his best work...heh.) They've really continued to evolve as a band though, and I think it's sad that so many people only regard them for their first album and don't even know they're still around. Every one of their albums since Cracked Rear View has been different musically...good stuff.
Kari did you go get their new album that was just released on the 9th? I was thinking of going to get it, along with Season 1 of the Muppet Show on dvd, but I'm not sure....
muppets rule. I liked those two old farts up in the balcony who were grumpuy and would squirt water at the others... I forget their names... I haven't seen that since I was a little kid.

I know, I loved the Muppets. The Critics, they were--I don't know if they had separate names or not! I loved them, and the Swedish Chef, and beeker. They just released Season 1 on dvd on Tuesday and I want it BAD!! I loved them and Fraggle Rock.
