Ultra Cheap/Free Mods

Post by xpalpha »

Just wondering if anyone knows of any super cheap or even free mods for the Vibe that'll increase HP, torque, anything. Just bought an '03 for my wife, and the forums for my other car had a bunch of free mods.

well for the a/c in this hot summer is the ac insulation tube mod. increasing hp/torq is hard to do "cheap" persay. but if you can find deals on a cold air intake, unichip or cat back exhaust your in business.which car do you have?

Doubt you'll find much of anything cheap to increase HP or torque, but if you like lights, LEDs are a pretty cheap mod that looks cool...

You can pull the intake plumbing out and just run with the airbox only.Umm...cut off your muffler. Dremel down your stock header flange. Rip the interior out to lighten the car.

The other forum is http://www.srtforums.com for the SRT-4. There are several free turbo mods on there. The wife's car is an 03 Base Vibe

Free turbos? I looked but it wants to register, I'd rather not do that. A turbo setup is big bucks, how does one add a turbo for free?

Ah. There really isn't squat for one of these cars though that will do anything in the realm of performance enhancement for zero cost. Unless you kick out your passengers.

do you have any pics of your srt-4? they are neat little cars, im glad the US car manf. are starting to make them, ie. cobalt ss, saturn redline and the srt-4...althou i'd like to see something from ford, the focus SVT was a nice little NA car, but i think it needs a s/c Well for the base you could get the s/c from GM and then tweak that, but nothing to start out tweaking would be really free.

It was also unhooked and empty from the factory! (removed)?Sure looked like a tuner car though... not really impressed.
