Customizing headlights

Post by northvibe »

I've seen this done on a new cobalt, where you bake the headlights then open them and paint the interior the color of the car. It then ends up looking like the new corvette headlights, pretty sweet looking but i hear its hard to reseal them and not get water back in. has anyone tried this on the vibe, it might look good. ill see if i have any pics to customize, and ill try to find the pics of the cobalt.

Nice, yea if i did i think i would go get some aftermarket light casings just in case i messed up on the factory ones and paint then the same as the car color. Do you notice a difference in visibility during night driving?

There are no aftermarket lights for this car.

yea i did this too, i did mine in flat black as well. i dont notice a difference in night visibility (but i have HIDs )But yea, the whole process is quite easy. your results turn out better if you take your time with the process, unlike me, i did both headlights in like 2 and a half hours i think? i only messed up a little on one of the headlights, but its not noticable

best way to do this is go to a junkers and get an extra set and do the ripping apart on those instead of ur headlights..i'd like to do something like this..either flat black or the same color as the car since i have paint for it still
