Where to get custom accessories?

Post by ragingfish »

Hi all...I've had my Vibe for just under 2 weeks now...already got 700 miles on it. But I have to admit, the engine amazes me...it has a lot of power, and gets great MPG ratings...even before the breakin was over I already averaged about 30...very impressive. While this isn't the first new car I've ever owned, it IS the first one I want to personaize and customize. So my question is, where do people get custom parts. For example, let's say I wanted different taillight lenses, or smoked headlight lenses, where would I go? The two parts I am REALLY looking for are a windshield decal for the top strip that says "Pontiac," and a steering wheel cover with the pontiac name and logo on it. I see chevy and ford ones at target, but NO WHERE, no store, no web site, can i find pontiac steering wheel covers. Any thoughts???? Thanks all!
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!

Its brand new model, so customizations and aftermarket parts will be scarce for a bit. As for Pontiac logo items...Pontiac themselves have catalogs online to look at.Have a look in the Mod and Do it Yourself sections of the forum and you may find some cool stuff. Like a louder horn...cause the stock one sucks.
Employ your time in improving yourself by other men's writings, so that you shall gain easily what others have labored hard for.

Thanks all!I just noticed that ragingfish has pased the 10,000 post mark, ascending to the exclusive top level, so I thought it would be appropriate to bump this thread, ragingfish's first post here at genvibe oh so long ago. Who would have thought that this upstart noob would develop into a genvibe super-god and have his hard work and fearless modifications earn him Vibe of the Month. So Mike, did you ever get that Pontiac windshield banner, or the Pontiac steering wheel cover?

Is it a GT? It doesn't really need premium, right?

Holy old thread batman!Know what is most disturbing about this thread?First off -- I claimed the engine had "lots" of power. Pffft.Second - and more disturbing than anything -- is I WANTED TO BE A FREAKIN RICER!!!!I browsed some of my other first posts, and i have to say, I asked some dumbass questions that, frankly, looking back now, I'm ashamed to have ever asked.Man, talk about a walk down memory lane...

Blast from the past! Don't feel bad though - there are plenty o' thereads around where I actually had good things to say about my car too... But still... Does the GT that I don't own need premium fuel? Can't I just install my matrix altezzas and run every other tank full of mid grade?
