test driving a 6 speed GTO! I haven't quite mastered stick.Yeah, apparantly one of the servers in my new store is driving a fully loaded 05 GTO. I saw it, was drooling, he noticed, handed me the keys.Yes. Just handed me the fricken keys.I went out (actually, it was more of a joyful skipping action (think charlie brown and the peanuts dancing ), got in, sat down and almost sh*t myself!!! I started it up (after about 3 minutes of repeated attempts to start, with no success, until I remembered you have to press the clutch to start ), and the growl of the engine was intoxicating. Finally, got it into gear. After numerous stalls, I finally managed to get it moving. OMFG does that car haul! No surprise, of course. I couldn't believe how fast I hit 50! In SECOND! I got back - and after being heckled for my fantastic skills with the stick - and asked the guy if I could be blunt. He nodded. I asked how he could afford a $32k car on a server salary. He said he put $8k down, did a SmartBuy, and is paying $350 a month. That simple. I was dumbfounded. I had NO idea a GTO could actually be that affordable!End result: the GTO has been UNELIMINATED! I am seriously reconsidering the car...
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!
They discount the shizzle out of those since apparently nobody will buy one. They were always trying to sell me one when I kept bringing the Vibe in for service. heh! Like I've said before, seeing how expensive a Vibe can become, a few pennies more on a GTO, that's a steal! You can afford the payment, but... How about insurance? The vizzle's expensive enough and it's just a crappy little no power havin' 4-banger station wagon, not some V8 powered, tire roastin' beast of a sportscar!

Ever since you placed the red X over the GTO in your sig. I was disappointed with you. Now Mike is thinking with his head and might make the right decision.

Haha! Nice!Well good luck man! That would be great if you could get into a GTO. Count me among the jealous if you do though. Sadly, in MT I can't afford to insurance to drive one even if I bought one.
These 6-speed cars are a blast and that is the only way to get a sports car or muscle car! IMO. 6-speeds are mean and instant power... I have beat lots of newer than mine, C5 Automatic Vettes in my Vette all because while they hit the gas and the trans gets going, I am already gone since my car is in the gear it needs to be and the revs are high! Just remind me not to let you drive my 6-speed! I like my clutch and it is still original... Good luck with the car search all of your pics have advantages and disadvantages.
