Driving down the road and noticed something moving just above my head. I glance up and there on the visor is a large brown spider. Well, about the time I notice it the blasted thing jumps off the visor and lands on my forehead! I'm not afraid of spiders but this thing completely caught me off guard. Luckily it jumped off my head and out the window. I'm sure if anyone saw me they were probably laughing at the look on my face!

I had a spider once crawl out from the opening in the stearing wheel between the airbag cover. It peaked out and stared right at me. When I got to a stop light, I took out a piece of paper and tried to get him, but he ran back inside the steering wheel. I got to my destination and couldn't find him. Then a couple days later I was driving and found him crawling on my front visor! When I had a chance to stop, I was able to get him out the window. I hate spiders, but I stayed calm that time. Now if it had jumped on my face, I probably would have freaked out LOL.

oh God, I had no idea this was a spiders thread! There is nothing that makes me queasy worse than spiders. The worst thing ever. Spiders outside or in the home are bad; spiders in the car are evil, because they're in such close quarters with you.Nothing beats the spider that I found in the back of my Vibe when I still had it though. My dad, who ISN'T petrified of the ugly things, caught it and put it in a bag, because HE thought it was cool. I think we measured it at about 4-5 inches around, and I'm still a little freaked out by it. Here goes though:
Last summer, I laid under my car to remove my cai filter. When I pulled the splash guard off, a black widow tumbled down onto my chest.I scooted out and danced around so fast that my own cloud of dust resembled a pack of attacking dogs.
I would have stopped the car (crashed or otherwise) and jumped out screaming "GET IT OF ME GET IT OFF!!!" while running around like a little sissy waving my arms wildly.

My wife would have also wreaked the car after passing out. My fear is snakes! I suppose I will not ever have one in my car but you never know and if I did, I would probably have taken out several cars crashing. How about a bee inside a motorcyclist helmet? Take one for the team buddy and slowly pull over!
I had a HUGE dragonfly come in my window once and hit me in the face. I swerved around while I freaked out. Of course one of Florida's Finest saw me in action. Lucky for me when he stopped me the bug flew out my window and almost hit him!
speaking of snakes, when I used to work for Wal-Mart automotive, had someone come in, her kid's pet snake got into the door... so out of all the big tough guys in the shop, I was elected to help her. Which I did as snakes generally don't bother me to much if they are small.

I've had a couple black widows crawl on me through my life. Thankfully none of them got pissed .The worst car/spider problem I remember was similar to Justin's, but I never found the bastid! He ended up spinning webs in my car ('90 Corrado) for about a week! Every morning I'd wake up to find new webs ! I was close to fumigating the damn thing when I found his dead, shrivelled up body on my driver's side floormat. I guess he'd had enough lol.
spiders would not have bothered me at all. i would have yelled with suprise, but not freak out like some people. now if a snake crawled up out of the wheel well...... that's a completely different story! car would have been totalled and i'd hope all the safety features in my new car would work properly! lol

I sleep just fine once I get comfortableOnly time a snake scared me was when I was younger and we were exploring this old barn on a friend's farm. Well this big and I mean BIG black snake shows up, everyone runs but my younger brother locks me in the barn... yeah and he wonders why I never liked him growing up lol... well the guy shows up with his shotgun and killed it. It was a good 5ft long black milk snake of some sort... but it was not in a good mood, was spreading out its neck like a cobra before it got blown away.
