Other Vibe Drivers

Post by Toasted7 »

I don't know if anyone has noticed this, but when I'm driving my Vibe and I see another Vibe on the road... I usually wave or honk my horn or something. Guess I kinda have a little pride in driving my Vibe, but the other Vibe drivers don't seem to pay attention AT ALL! I don't know if this is just a phenomenon in Ohio or around Dayton or not, earlier today I saw another Vibe and I honked and waved and got nothing in return, not even a nod or anything. Anyone else notice this???

So far other Vibe owners I have seen have been very responsive. I saw a Neptune Vibe the other day as I pulled up next to her. I waved and the other driver waved back to me with a smile to boot. Maybe your honking is making people think that they have done something wrong on the road.

I have had no response from other Vibe owners. But other people constantly ask me about my car. Deep down inside I would like to think that I have helped sell a few Vibes in the area.

No Vibe drivers have waved, but a Matrix driver was beside me and waved the other day.

i know exactly what you're talking about, toasted! there are so few vibes in my area (got my vibe mid-dec, saw my first two vibes two days ago) that i get so excited when i see one...however, similar to your situation, the other driver doesn't even notice.... in contrast, those aztec drivers are seemingly more alert and responsive!interesting that duke university medical center has added at least one white matrix to its arsenal of university vehicles (campus police drive chevy impalas).

I got a thumbs up from an Abyss driver in the grocery store parking lot. Its the only acknowledgement I've gotten from another vibe driver.

We have an 82 corvette and whenever we take that out and we drive by other corvettes nearly every one of them wave and honk. I've tried with fellow vibes at least 2-3 dozen times but they were are all unresponsive. Just have to hope that it will one day catch on.

Looks like I'm running into the same problem as snowbeast. I was the same way when I first got my Vibe in late Nov., it took a few weeks before I even saw another Vibe on the road. It's like the other drivers don't even care. Guess I might just have to swallow my pride and let it go, but I'm still gonna wave!

i have a theory that other drivers are having so much fun driving their vibe that they don't care to look around and see what anyone else is driving anymore! either that, or they're too busy trying to read the gauges...

Hmm, if they have problems reading their gauges, they must have different ones from me.

I hardly ever see other vibes. May be one every 2 weeks and they are always from out of state....but they always wave and smile when they go by. Hopefully I will see more soon. I do see Matrixes quite a bit and they do honk or wave at me.
